Wahou. That's what comes to my mind when remembering this place. Apogee is really a 5 stars experience, everything is perfect, beautiful, extremely well decorated, comfortable, and everyone does its best to make you feel special in this place. A special thought for Kenny, who really made a difference to create a warm and unique experience for our stay, and to Floyd who speaks French and with whom we had great conversations!

    I lived in Pretoria for 5 years before moving to the UK.

    I lived in Pretoria for 5 years before moving to the UK. Pretoria has its own special uniqueness. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many of the smaller shopping centers had been upgraded and new shops added. However, the road works on Solomon Mahlangu Drive have been going on for years, I have been gone for 2 and a half years, and that particular road is still a nightmare. One word of warning to travellers is don't presume that because the traffic light is green you can go, way too many drivers think a red light means they can keep going. Saw a few nasty accidents while there. I found in general, SA has become ridiculously expensive, especially when eating out. Keep valuables in the trunk of your car and always check that your vehicle is locked before walking away to do shopping.

    Safe and clean with reliable public transport and friendly people. My favourite places were the Woodlands Boulevard Mall and Atterbury Value Mart. There were a variety or restaurants where I able to dine.

    I generally love Tshwane (Pretoria).

    I generally love Tshwane (Pretoria). I love the access to Monuments, Theatres and Malls. I like the cleanliness even in the streets. I even plan to come for another weekend to do some of the things that are in my list. Particularly the Freedom Park.

    Spent more than two hours at the gate trying to get codes,also the address on booking.com got us lost. We had to go through another back and forth with the host trying to find the keybox, and the host was very impatient.

    The ubers are very scarce.

    The ubers are very scarce. I am not certain if it was because of the event but it was my first time having to wait for 2 hours to get an Uber no matter where I was at. I requested at 16:00 at gautrain station and the ride was only accepted at 19:00.

    We loved the location of this hotel. All our appointments were between Brooklyn and Menlyn area and this hotel was pretty central. Access to areas mainly avoids the highways which was nice and time sensible. The restaurant, interior, view and food quality is superb! We loved every single meal! The interior décor of this hotel is a visual delight by itself. Such a lovely romantic place!

    The City Lodge chain of hotels is so typically South African like rugby or biltong. So whats nice is that you know exactly beforehand what your going to get and this hotel’s location is particularly centrally near a major highway. House keeping needs a special mention as I forgot my pajama pants in the room and they located in and liaised with a courier company to have it sent to me.
