Where do I start? Staying at the Wadula in an exoerience, not just a stay at a hotel! The accommodation is situated in the middle of nature. This is why you're escorted by one of the brothers that own the hotel from the main road because otherwise you'd probably get lost. Think nature, think a jungle-like experience! If you're a nature lover such as myself you will love this place! The owners, Dulaj and Chamith, are the best hosts you could possibly imagine. Welcoming, all smiles, and extremely helpful. They can arrange a host of things such as transportation, packed lunches and, of course safaris in neighbouring (literally 50 metres away) Yala National Park. The safari, arranged by the brothers, comes highly recommended! We did the full day safari. Very good packed breakfast, yummy lunch and to top it all off we saw elephants and yes, the ever elusive panther! Go for it! Ask Dulaj or Chamith to arrange the safari for you! They know the best guides! As for the accommodation: you will stay in your own private beautiful bungalow. It has all the amenities such as flatscreen TV, WiFi, aircon, coffee /tea, and in the bathroom apart from shampoo, even conditioner, toothpaste etc etc. Wonderful! Each balcony has a veranda with a gorgeous view over the lake. A perfect place to relax in the evenings! If you love nature and if you love a quiet peaceful place, look no further and book the Wadula!

The property is a peaceful and unique set up in the most wonderful and quiet place. Our room was spacious with mosquito nets and the facilities such as the toilets and shower were super clean. The host was so welcoming and kind to us throughout the whole trip, making sure he we had everything we needed from tuk-tuks, food and the times of local buses. Me and my friend were bewildered by his kindness and efficiency, a very hard worker who made the experience complete and unforgettable. Thank you so much, we’ll be back!

Our stay at Green Nest Yala was a wonderful experience. You are in the Sri Lankan bush, surrounded by nature! The site is full of native herbal trees giving it that lush bush feel. The main lounge/ dining area and the lovely swimming pool overlook a lake. The sunsets over the lake are really pretty. The manager is such a lovely person. He was incredibly attentive and really friendly. He made sure that we had everything we needed and that we were happy. He couldn't do more to ensure our stay was perfect. He took us for a walk to the lake at sunset and he pointed out the many crocodiles that live there!! He also pointed out many other animals and birds that live here including monkeys, rabbits, peacocks, squirrels, chameleons, lizards, large ants, water buffalo and eagles. Sometimes a wild elephant may even pass by. There are hundreds of different birds enjoying the trees at Green Nest Yala. We stayed for two relaxing nights and enjoyed all our meals here which were home cooked by the manager and truly very delicious! Our bedroom was basic but very clean and tidy. There is quiet AC and hot water. The main lodge is a great space to sit and relax. We really enjoyed the swimming pool. Oh, and the sun beds are the best! We were the only guests for most of our stay so we had the run of this delightful place to ourselves. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable!

The staff here was incredibly accommodating, they even offered us a late check-out without us needing to ask, which worked out perfectly since we had a morning safari. The room was modern and comfortable, and the pool was a great spot for a refreshing swim. They helped us arrange the safari and thoughtfully prepared breakfast in a bag for us to take along. We also had dinner there, which was delicious. Just a note: the prices for dinner and breakfast were a bit high ($12 and $10 respectively), considering the local cost of living, but it’s understandable since it’s a remote area. Overall, we loved it and highly recommend it. It’s the perfect spot for an unforgettable safari experience!

Fabulous luxury lodges with very large covered decks set in a very peaceful rural setting close to Yala and close to the beach. A very calming, tranquil place to stay. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable.. The bathroom is as large as many hotel rooms in itself and the additional outside cold shower is a very unusual touch. (And the indoor shower is excellent, too.) The lodges are arranged to enhance privacy and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The roof top swimming pool has a beautiful view over the sea and the food is excellent. Monkeys sometimes visit the grounds, as do a few cows and even occasionally an elephant - though not when we were there. A wide variety of birds surround you in the trees. The manager arranged an excellent half day safari to Yala for us with a very knowledgeable guide.

Very nice little hotel in a beautiful setting! You can pick up fresh mangos in the garden end enjoy a nice view overlooking the ricefields! Tharek, the receptionist, was extremely helpful and attentive to all needs and questions!
