Amazing place, we loved it! Rooms spacious and with a great view. Place within a walking distance to a beautiful beach you have for yourself. We rented a car but hardly needed it as we just didn’t want to move from the place where you have all you need for a great stay, only a shop missing so stock up. Breakfast is absolutely lovely, option for dinner which I highly recommend. Owner is a great guy who runs the place in a great manner. I would not hesitate to return any moment, go for it! It’s a peaceful retreat you hardly find these days.

Bakwa lodge is a little gem on beautiful Rodrigues island. Such a quiet and wonderful location, with the (usually empty) beach in front, surrounded by nature, but still in walking distance of a shop and a few eating places. The staff is lovely and very helpful. They organized a scooter to rent, and this was (for me) the perfect way to discover all corners of the island. It‘s also located at the start of the Mourouk-Pt.Coton hike, which is amazing. The semi-attached bungalows are beautifully decorated, nicely made, with outdoor shower (GREAT), a comfy bed, and really all you need also for a longer stay. I definitely recommend this „Bijou“ of place when being on Rodrigues island.

Beautiful location and rooms with stunning views of the ocean. An exceptional host that is always willing to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely consider Domaine de la Paix again for my next visit to Rodrigues.

I loved the 'Gites Kreol' which I had all to myself. The welcome the 1st evening all guests were invited to dine with the family. Good food and atmosphere. French was the predominant language spoken, English was understood. Loved the infinity pool after a long day sightseeing. Highly recommend for a quiet relaxing stay. Next time I will bring my husband along to hopefully stay in the same accommodation as they have different styles of gites.
