DenmarkGreat lodge with the most amazing view of the forest! It’s located in a very quiet and peaceful area but it is easy to get there from Buhoma and Ruhija. Nelly and her staff are amazing and you always feel like home. I look forward to coming back.

KenyaFrom the moment I arrived at the airstrip,the lodge had arranged for a driver to pick me up, to arriving at the lodge,the hospitality was exceptional. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind ,they made me feel right at home. The lodge is beautifully perched in the hills, offering stunning views of the surrounding forest and mountains. Waking up to the peaceful sounds of nature and seeing the morning mist drift through the trees was simply magical.
The rooms at Kaara Mountain Lodge are spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed. There’s a perfect balance of comfort, luxury, and eco-friendliness. I especially appreciated the little touches, like the cozy hot water bottles in the bed at night and the warm turndown service after a long day.
The food was another standout ;fresh, delicious, and made with great care. Each meal, from the early breakfast before trekking to the hearty dinner in the evening, was a treat. The dining area itself is beautifully set, making every meal feel special.
Most importantly, the lodge is ideally located for gorilla tracking, making the logistics incredibly easy. After an awe-inspiring day of encountering mountain gorillas, returning to the calm and comfort of Kaara Mountain Lodge was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on such a unique experience.

United KingdomEVERYTHING. It was in an amazing location overlooking Bwindi, with astonishing views. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff, Jennifer in particular were amazing. I even got a push start when my battery went :)
The food was delicious. If you are considering booking here, then please do! It was the best place we stayed in the whole if Uganda & Rwanda. Dan & Veebs

The host and his team were so lovely and welcoming. The food was excellent and it’s only a few meters from the start of the gorilla tracking! A nice touch were the hot-water bottles they prepared for the beds in the evening. Everything was very clean and the host helped us wherever he could! Paul and his team are very helpful in every aspect, the best service you can imagine. Paul went out of his way to get the latest infos for road conditions and which route is best to take for us as self drivers. Food was delicious and plentyful. Although we did not book our gorilla Trek through this lodge, our host escorted us to the meeting area and stayed with us until we began our trek. The gate to the park was just down the hill. The food was wonderful. The soups were hearty and the homemade breads were delicious. Our room was adequate and comfortable.
