Great location for the Tenmonkan district and getting to Sakurajima island (10 min walk to ferry). The host was also very nice and welcoming.

Our stay was in early December and I can’t thank their staff enough. They were so friendly and nice, helped us to get the taxi and being extremely helpful for everything. We are so touched by the services. The room and everything were nice. There was a private Onsen you can use for free once during the stay. The breakfast was good too with Aso milk. We really enjoyed the stay and will definitely recommend this!

If you have a car, location is excellent with a separate Onsen only steps away, where they offer public and private rooms. It's also convenient to get to the trails of Mt Aso and other local sightseeing. The home itself if wonderful with 2 bedrooms upstairs (1 western, 1 tatami mats), and a full bath on main level with kitchen, dining, living, and many electronics available to use. They are even very generous with some supplies in the refrigerator (which we greatfully used as we forgot to buy Mayo at the store) and access to some shochu (which we conservatively sampled a few of the open bottles). The views are wonderful and we were there in the autumn and you could see the colors of the valley. We would HIGHLY recommend. We did exploring and hiking during the day and returned home to Onsen and then end the day with board games. It was perfect!

We liked the crab buffet and drinks. The hotel is large and many accessories. Though we can't see Aso mountaun this time due to Typhoon, the view from restaurant and room would be beautiful.

Warm services and sincere staff taking care of us during our stay. Delicious japanese cuisine, both breakfast and dinner. Traditional onsen house with 300 years maintained and decorated impressively. Of course recommened when visiting Kurokawa Onsen.
