Was right next to the train station which was convenient with luggage. The only thing to be aware is this is quite a distance from Hakodate (30 minutes on the train) so it was a little isolated from restaurants etc. Hotel rooms were nice, basic but had everything you need. They also have public baths there but you can’t use with tattoos. Staff were friendly and helpful, and was great value for money.

The dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing. The food is some of the best Washoku I have had in a long long time. The room had a massive double king bed and a beautiful view of the ocean. The private onsen was also so amazing. Apparently, one of the taxi drivers my partner and I took mentioned that Emperor Hirohito back in Showa 1954 had apparently stayed at this location many years ago. That should pretty much describe how amazing this place is.

Ichinomatsu is a traditional ryokan with a hot spring bath. I love the atmosphere in this type of lodging - very relaxing and with people ready to take care of the logistics around you. Breakfast and dinner served to perfection in your room. Short stroll to a big bath for the guests - perfectly maintained. View to a small japanese style garden. Very relaxing two days.

Everything! Especially there’s a washing and dryer machine in the room! Amazing! It’s good for those people who will stay in Japan for more than 7 days. We will absolutely book Tokyu Stay when we travel to Japan next time.

Excellent hotel for a reasonable price, including all you need. The onsen is of high quality and the value is superb. Can highly recommend. This was in low season so maybe prices are different when it’s busy but this was one of the best hotel experiences in Japan in 8 years.
