The apartment house was clean, Mario the host was super kind. The breakfast and the dinner was more than enough for four person. It is nearby to the Shala river port, but prepare yourself for a least 10km long really bad quality road from Shköder. It was hard to find the apartment, but turn down from the road at the Borealis sign, these apartments are neighbours. The lake is freezing cold, but the surrounding environment is beautiful. There is a small shop and a restaurant at the bridge with a limited assortments. It is a perfect place to stay if you're planning a whole day Shala river tour, which is highly recommended.

Communication was working well, and we were well looked after from beginning to the end. We had the lakeside upstairs apartment, which was perfect. Sun chairs by the lake were perfect after swimming in the lake (is is refreshing, not cold!) Dinner was served for us in our apartment, and was really tasty, as also breakfast, especially the pancakes and figjam, as almost all incredients were locally produced by the owners or their close family/locals. Since our plans didn't work out to take ferry to Fierze, owners were helpful to find us other options and organising it. Shala river tour was definitely beautiful, but we were happy we were in may, and not in the busiest times when it's mega crowded with tourists. Would highly recommend Borealis Guesthouse, and all the best for you for the season! Thanks 🙏

The hosts of this guest house are the most lovely people and quickly became friends. Ennie & Sokol are so warm, inviting and kind. Our family of five stayed in the ground floor guest house (there is another, larger suite above). They provided an extra mattress for our third daughter. The suite was clean, cute and suited us well. We loved the walk-out to the pool and the views in the area are stunning - with mountains, Lake Koman, cows, goats, roosters and turkeys. We chose this guest house due to its proximity to the boat launch to Shala River and we are so grateful to have met the beautiful hosts! They welcomed us so warmly and made our short stay so memorable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast cooked by Ennie with homemade wine from their own grapes. Ennie arranged our transport to the launch to catch our boat to Shala River. Included in the fee was the drive in the shared minivan (8 minute dive) and the boat trip itself to Shala River (1 hour 15 mins). This was so convenient and easy for us and I highly recommend asking Ennie about this if you are planning a trip to Shala River. It is a stunningly beautiful trip that allows you to spend 3 - 4 hours at the Shala Riverside before you return.
