I drove about a 100 extra km to stay at this place, and it was totally worth it! Ultra highly recommended! The hostess is very kindhearted, and the cabin and facilities are of high quality, but for an exceptionally low price (for Austria). And, more importantly, all income is used to rescue animals and make them happy and healthy. I loved meeting the animals, and i was impressed with the dedication and care they are given, the hostess is a hero! But for those who are less fond of cats, horses, ducks, etc., no worries, the animals are kept on the other side of the terrain, so you will not be bothered by them, or noises, or smells. The cabin is fabulous, its facilities are clean and surprisingly fancy: comfy bed, good kitchenette, luxurious bathroom, and a little terrace. The location is convenient (shops and facilities close enough), but quiet and beautiful, and I encountered lots of deer and other wildlife on the little road to the farm (so drive slowly and carefully!) This place is the best, I cant wait to go back here for a longer stay!

The accommodation is part of an renovated 13th century house/farm. The room is spatious and clean, it has a warm and cozy atmosphere, the beds are confortable. The lady of the house is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

It's a castle!!! Seriously awesome. No in all seriousness, the owners have done a great job renovating this gem. Our room was massive, not sure if we were upgraded but there was space to sleep 10 in our suite. A full bathroom with extra toilet was great with kids. The food was brilliant and the service was excellent. The English of the staff wasn't great but with their little bit of English and my little bit of German we managed. The castle tour was great and they had an English information sheet which was helpful.

The apartment is very cozy, and it is located in Melk's old town, so all the attractions, including the abbey are very close. Melk itself is very beautiful small town; we liked it most out of all towns and cities we visited in Austria.
