Wonderful, peaceful, friendly sanctuary. Beautiful location on the bank of the river. Rooms are lovely and very clean. The restoration of the building is of very high quality with great attention to detail. Wifi is super fast. There are beautiful walks around the area, all the way to the neighbouring town Kelheim. There is even a ferryman who takes you to the other side of the river for 2 euros! Resturant has excellent food and is well priced in my opinion. There is a brewery in the monastery and the Barock Dunkel beer is particularly delicious. When coming back from my walk, a monk stopped and helped us with directions, very friendly and so nice. I originally booked two nights but ended up staying for three.

    Pension Holzapfel is located in the heart of a picturesque village, a great starting point to many cycling and hiking adventures. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, pointed us to very good restaurants nearby. The room was clean. The breakfast was basic, but we didn't leave the table hungry. Parking wasn't an issue.

    Our family had one of the most amazing and relaxing stays we’ve ever had. The view we had from our room looking out at the garden and lake made us feel at home at once. The rooms are also spacey and well-equipped. Doris and her family were absolutely sweet and attentive. There’s so many sights and attractions to go to in Altmühltal, our small kids were never bored. There’s also a good restaurant/brewery nearby (Brauereigasthof Schneider) that we went to every evening. Parking was easy-peasy. Would love to get to stay here again!

    The room is big, clean and comfortable. Bathroom also quite big. Location is good and easy to reach, very near to town centre. Easy check-in / check-out. Free parking in front of the hotel Friendly owner.

    Fantastic location and view! The hotel itself is nice and looked after with love :) Free parking in the front of the entrance. Excellent breakfast and hospitable staff.
