By definition it’s an old neighbourhood, a bit run down, but that’s the charm: it’s noisy, authentic and we felt safe. The hotel is an old French building, 100+ yrs old, fully renovated with the most helpful staff we met in Algeria: need to call abroad, get a doctor, a printout or a taxi - it gets done!
