The location is very close to Bayeux (5km)and also close to Arromanches and the beaches. Nevertheless the estate lies by its own, away from any traffic and noise, all by itself in a very peaceful and scenic area surrounded by fields, meadows and the typical hedgerows of Normandy. The buildings have been fully restored and used to be a huge farm with a cheese production. Some works and finetuning is still ongoing, the new owners opened just a month ago.(05/2023) The breakfast was very good and rich with local food. The owners are very helpful and friendly.

The country location was beautiful and peaceful yet close to town. Loved the cows and chickens and well as the frogs and fish in the pond. Host was very pleasant and kind. Didn't speak much english but we managed.

The property was impeccably maintained - inside and outside. Everything was clean and fully functional. The location was ideal for exploring Bayoux and a reasonable commute to the Normandy attractions. Our host (Carole) was friendly and thorough, and prepared a 5-star breakfast each morning. To put it in a few words, this was our best experience in a trip where we visited 5 countries and 8 locations. Having previously been to Paris, arriving at Aggarthe was like finding an Oasis in the middle of the desert. Diane was, in a few words, the best hostess we've met in years of traveling. Always with a smile and eager to help, she made sure that we knew exactly all the things we could do around Bayeux and even made sure we could rent a car during the low season. Breakfast felt like a buffet, even though we were one of two families staying, and her Security Detail (i.e. Gus and the cats) raised the quality by 100 points for dog lovers away from home. The room had everything you could hope for or need and the bed was as comfortable as it gets. We were also provided with free parking space meters away from the location (Great for people who rent cars and don't feel comfortable leaving them on the street)

    Good parking, not too far to drive to Bayeux. Bayeux itself was great. Must see the tapestry museum, and try out the local restaurants. Also head away from the centre only by about 200 metres to find an enclave of wonderful houses and squares.
