The location was excellent and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. It's was a wonderful starting point for a lot of hikes in the area and also a nice place to relax and have a delicious dinner at the end of the day. We enjoyed our time enormously.

We have stayed in a number of hotels in the Coaching Inn chain but this was by far the best. The location was perfect being situated in the heart of Dartmoor. The facilities excellent. The restaurant was extremely well appointed with a variety of comfortable chairs and sofas. The staff were brilliant and very accommodating when asked for variations to the menu.

Sue and Andy were wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If I had to choose one word to describe our stay, it would be 'sanctuary', after a long, wet and windy day on the Dartmoor Way! The room was large, clean, cosy and warm. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. A large range of complimentary teas was provided and Sue even got us a boot tray and clothes horse to dry all our wet clothes on. The breakfast table was beautifully set, with some lovely details such as a bowl of fresh berries. The continental and hot breakfast selection was excellent. We really enjoyed chatting with both Sue and Andy and learning more about the local area. We didn't make use of the communal living area but from a glance into the room it was very inviting. The house was beautifully decorated. The price was amazing value. 11/10!

    Fantastic location. Views straight out of the picture window. Room was always clean and tidy as was the shower/toilet. Great selection for breakfast - cereals, juices etc. all the way up to full cooked breakfast. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials, for the evening meal. Very good sized portions as well. Had to skip dessert a couple of times - bit gutted about that! Staff always friendly and helpful. Easy parking outside.

    Huge bed, good sized bathroom with a great shower. Good selection for the cooked breakfast. We also had dinner in the very cosy restsurant and the food was delicious and really well priced. Good off road parking.
