One of my favorite places on the Mestia - Ushkuli trek. The hosts were very hospitable, food was exceptionally good, and facilities were great! My favorite part - the windows are facing the river, which made me fall asleep in 5 minutes. (Also met other great guests there, so I believe this place attracts good people).

The homemade dinner was absolutely delicious. They even offered me some homemade chacha. The room was the cleanest I've stayed in during my time in Georgia. I made several requests upon arrival, and the host kindly accepted them all. The glacier tour was also worry-free, as they arranged an English-speaking driver.

Raul is a great, helpful and enthusiastic host. His guesthouse is in a small village a little off the main Mestia-Ushguli track. It seemed like the whole village was somewhat involved in making sure that the guests are alright. Two of the inhabitants opened the small village church for us, which has the most amazing frescoes. Also, the guesthouse itself is great. The food tastes well and is eaten in a proper dining hall, really rustic and cozy. If you are interested in going to the Lagurka festival in late July, Raul’s guesthouse is just next door!

Our stay was amazing! The cottage is in a beautiful location with stunning mountain views in every direction. It was warm, clean, and cozy, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere of Ushguli. We also went on a horseback ride through the valley — it was absolutely unforgettable!

The host family was very welcoming and provided us with everything we needed. Breakfast and dinner were fresh and delicious. Since the accommodation was a bit farther from the city center, free transportation was provided (my legs are very grateful!). The house was still undergoing renovations, but that didn’t bother us at all.
