The staff is super friendly and Nabila speaks a perfect English, and she will help you with anything you need, including your next travel arrangements. The view is amazing from your terrasse or from the cafe at the reception. Very quiet at night (except for the mosque early morning, but that's everywhere in Indonesia) They serve breakfast/lunch/diner and it was very good. They provided wifi, which was a great help. The network of Telkomsel is also perfect here, so if you have to work, that's absolutely fine. Large bathroom with sink and shower (cold water only) Comfortable bed Fan in the room (it did the job, we had no need for air-co here) Scooter rental is also possible

As a backpacker I stayed here in 1993 and - after more than 30 years - returning to Beach Guesthouse felt like stepping back into the good old nineties. Same beautiful spot right at the lake, same amiable family that runs the place and still the same positive vibe. It was great to be back here. The rooms are also still very basic, so if you're looking for luxury, this isn't a hotel for you. However, if you are looking for warm hospitality and a relaxing atmosphere in an idyllic setting, then this might be the place you are dreaming of. The adjacent Bagoes Café 'n' Resto serves delicious food, delicious juices and cold beers. And as you gaze across the calm waters of Lake Maninjau, you realize that life isn't so bad after all... Staff is super friendly and can help to arrange your onward transport. Motorbikes and bicycles are for rent if you want to go around the lake. Good to know that the lake is a popular getaway for local tourists and day trippers at weekends, so it can get a bit more crowdy (and noisy) in the guesthouse. During the week you probably have the place almost to yourself and it’s just peace and harmony.
