- Hotel owner really helped us out prior to travelling to Flores and arranged for overland transfers from Labuan Bajo to Ruteng and then from Ruteng to Bajawa. Both drivers had good English and were reasonably priced. Thank you very much to Dolvi (staff at Ara) for driving us and being so patient with the construction on the way and driving us to dinner that evening. - Large, spacious and clean room. - Beautiful surrounding gardens. The properties back on to a bamboo forest and river. - Simple and nice breakfast. We were served fresh avocado which came from the tree on-site. - Recommend to visit the spider web rice fields which are close by.

This was by far one of the best accommodations I’ve been to in Indonesia in terms of warmth and learning about the local culture! - Piter and Fian are the best hosts, so welcoming, I truly felt part of a family! It was so interesting to learn more about the culture and their village - the apartment is very spacious, clean, bright - delicious breakfast included - it’s in a quiet location, only a couple of minutes away by scooter to the centre of Ruteng. You can enjoy a relaxing walk into nature from the accommodation - there is hot water!

One of the top homestays we had on our Flores trip. A cozy room with good comfortable mattress. Hot shower was working well, the seperated toilet and bathroom very clean , its a SHARED bathroom and toilet with other rooms, but only one other room was occupied. Internet very good. Very friendly couple, they speak basic english and they reserved us a luxury bus to Labuanbajo and they drove us to Kopi Mani Coffeeshop to rent a motorcycle. Nice breakfast (pancakes and local Flores coffee) was served in the courtyard. The house is in a quiet residential area, around 20 minutes walk from the city center. Quiet at night.

Peter is an exceptional host and staying with him and Karolina was truly a special experience. We were shown so many lovely places, the atmosphere was comfortable and very warm and all the tips about things to do were very valuable. Also slept very well in the bed :). Best place we’ve been in Indonesia and we feel like we’ve made new friends through this experience. Highly recommend!

Irwan and Ernesta were amazing hosts. We chose to travel to Ruteng to get in touch with locals and they completly integrated us in their community. We enjoyed the talks, the food, the little trips and connected on a deeper level, while still having all the privacy we needed. The family and the community are super welcoming. In short time we learned a lot about the indonesian culture in Ruteng. And we got served home-made coffee from their garden, which tasted amazing. Tipp: Irwan also is an highly experienced tour guide all accross Flores so we recomment getting in touch with him beforehand to plan some hiking tours with him!
