The most beautiful lodge we had the pleasure to stay at! Nested in the jungle, it felt like a dream to relax listening to the sound of the forest. Everything is beautiful at the Jungle Guide, and the staff is very kind and helpful. We even had the chance to listen to some of them playing the guitar and singing, it was lovely! I can't recommend it enough!

This is juste the perfect place ! At the end of the village, so more quiet, front of the gorgeous river. My bungalow was huge and very charming. But most of all Tia welcome you in the best way. She's very kind and gives very good advices, so you can trust her to organise a treck in the forest. I did it and it was a magic moment ( and physical ! ). I love Bukit Lawang, it's a very beautiful place and you can trust me : go to Rambai Tree Jungle lodge you will love it !

Our first stop in Sumatra was at Lilly's Guesthouse, where we were very warmly welcomed by her and her husband Ishako. From the first moment we felt welcome and completely at home. We booked a two-day jungle trek. Our adventure began on the second day after our arrival, together with our guide Iman and a French couple, Carolane and Romain. There was immediately a nice click, and so we trekked into the jungle together. Blood, sweat, but no tears - what an experience! Without Iman, the trek would definitely not have been the same. What a top guy! After two days of trekking and a night's sleep in the middle of the jungle, we arrived safely back at the guesthouse. How happy we were to finally shower again and sleep in a comfortable bed! As icing on the cake, we also enjoyed a wonderful massage - how good that felt! After that we wanted to travel on to Lake Toba, and coincidentally that was also Lilly's plan with her family. Transportation was completely arranged by them, and together we traveled to our next destination. Along the way, we had lunch together, took the same ferry and once again shared beautiful, enjoyable moments. In Tuktuk our paths parted, as we had each booked our own guesthouse, but we met up a few more times. Each time it was a warm reunion! What we really want to say: we felt like one of them. Always hospitable, helpful and with genuine warmth and friendliness. We are very grateful for that. You remain in our hearts. ♥️ Greetings from Ruben & Aurélie!

Amazing stay. Very nice clean room, brilliant value! Also booked 3 day trek with them which was incredible, saw lots of orangutan’s, but the whole team made it so special. Guides Helmy (Mowgli) and Dean and chef Anto (great food) were so welcoming, friendly, polite, very funny and amazing guides. Made the trip brilliant. Dedycool the host was super!

Everything was wonderful. The location overlooking the river from your balcony is amazing. The room is basic but for the prize it is fantastic value. Apart from the fantastic view you get a super comfy bed, a big mosqito net (without holes :-), a bathroom and toilet (cold water), a fan and WIFI in the room - which I was not expecting. But above all Alex and his family are exellent hosts and you feel very velcome. Alex arranged transport for me to and from Bukit Lawang. I would really recommend this transport (shared tourist taxi) and of course the main thing: Alex arranged a two day trek for me. It vas amazing with lots of wild life including orangutans.

They organised a 4 day jungle trek for us and we had the most amazing guide Rio who was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the jungle. It was an incredible trip to remember

What a pleasure it was to stay at Cheeky Monkeys! Everyone here was so friendly and so kind, and with its lovely setting overlooking the river, you’re really in a world apart. I only did the 3-hour jungle trek, but saw the orangutans and Thomas leaf monkeys. My guide, Bambang, was not only a wealth of knowledge, he patiently told me where to place each foot while winding up and down and through jungle roots, vines, and muddy patches. Such a nice man! The transfers from Medan and back to the airport were flawless and the drivers excellent. As for the accommodations at Cheeky, descriptions here are accurate. Food was good, the impromptu guitar after dinner was fun, and the WiFi connection in my room was much better than I expected. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the future.
