Darren, the host, was really lovely and kindly accommodated our early check-in. The breakfast was yummy and plentiful. And, finally, the location is really special - the back garden is beautiful and the canal itself is wonderful!

Breakfast was basic but all that one would ever need. She made us feel very comfortable as we were able to use the kitchen as our own. The Ring Farmhouse was just perfect for myself, my wife and son. Quiet and private, but close to town. The hosts were friendly and very pleasant and helpful. Carmel’s hospitality made my work trip feel more like a vacation. The house is spotlessly clean, Carmel and her husband Billy invited me for a nice evening tea and chat, and breakfast was very generous. The house is located at the end of a cul de sac surrounded by farm fields, but in reasonable walking distance from Birr town center (and Carmel offered me a lift if I didn’t want to walk). The local bus also picks up a few minutes’ walk away.

We have stayed at this property before so we knew what to expect. It is very clean, with comfortable beds. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, saucepans etc. The best bit is the log burning stove which belts out such heat. So comfortable to relax each evening in front of a wood burning stove! The bathroom is large. The shower is also large with plenty of hot water. Nice fresh clean towels too. Useful storage room upstairs. Central location in Birr.
