Everything! By far the best place I've stayed on my trip. The place is a stunning 124 year old home made of wood, I'm a carpenter myself and was really loving the attention to detail those craftsmen used. Aji is so kind and friendly, he came to meet me when I couldn't find the place, and brought me a lovely breakfast in the morning. I would live there if I could!

We had a wonderful time at A One Home Stay. It’s a quiet and relaxing place to stay with the family. This was our first homestay experience in India, and we initially thought we might need to bring our own bedsheets and blankets, assuming the provided ones would be old or overused. To our surprise, everything was fresh and new. I’d definitely recommend this place for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

This is a gem of a place steeped in local tradition and history. The family were absolutely marvellous and a delight to interact with. Mr Rajeev Thomas, the property owner, has a profound knowledge of the area and history and is the fifth generation of an ancient family that has maintained their Knaya, Syrian Christian traditions and homestead. The property is located on the banks of the River Pamba and offers breathtaking views of the river. A magical and peaceful place. Sitting by the river, viewing the sunset and sunrise each day, brings a calm and peace that any city dweller will appreciate. Mrs Thomas served up fabulous meals each day, and for those wanting a taste of real homecooked Kerala food, this is a must. A real find and cannot recommend this place strongly enough.

Our stay at Malakkarethu was truly amazing. Despite our late-night check-in due to personal reasons, the staff was incredibly accommodating and supportive. We had the pleasure of meeting Jojy J Varghese and his wife Deepthi, the gracious hosts, whose warm welcome and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. Mr. Jojy even took the time to help us capture some wonderful moments on their property. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the scenic river view and the presence of birds, adding to the overall enjoyment of our stay.
