Lovely guesthouse fully conceived and built by the host Ragnar, whom we appreciated chatting with and that prepared a very nice breakfast. Cosy apartment, with a beautiful view, and fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. we enjoyed walking in the surroundings, around the ‘red chair’ made by Ragnar, local attraction that you can spot from the road.

Very convenient cottage. Spacious for 4 person family. We hiked nearby (200m from flat) Hvannagir Canyon loop, 16 kilometers on 2nd day. Very nice hiking root and nice scenery. Near by lamb farm also nice attraction. Sea and mountain view. Perfect location for Iceland roundtrip.

The house looked even better than in the photos, the views were amazing and the surroundings were very peaceful and quiet.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage by the sea. I call it a "cottage" because (in my mind) instead of an "apartment" it seems to describe this freestanding lodging (with no other lodging nearby) better to me. This two bedroom, living room, dinning/kitchen, bath (with washing machine) was perfect for the 3 of us. There was plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped for space. As you approach the cottage, the area looks a bit industrial but don't let that put you off. Once you see the sign "Apartment by the Sea" you feel like you are in a time gone by. The cottage offers privacy, with an unbelievable view of the sea dotted with islands. On a calm morning it is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. We even spotted a seal taking a morning swim. There are several lovely restaurants within walking distance and the town has some shops and walking trails to enjoy. This town doesn't feel touristy but rather authentic Iceland. The owner met us at the apartment with the key and answered our questions.....as he was at the shop next door.....that was a surprise bonus.... the owners also own and operate a lovely boutique shop connected to the cottage giving 20% discount to renters. The building is a historic fishing processing site and built to withstand the strong winds common in this area. There are pictures inside of the original use of the building...oh, what would those fishermen think now. We loved this town and this lodging and highly recommend it.

It was all we could imagine. The house was exceptionally clean and well-furnished, the kitchen had everything we needed and more, the bathroom was spotless and the room was very comfortable. The hosts left a book with useful info about the area and the history of their home and family.
