Good environment At night you can various animals sound because this is thick ungle area. Early morning you can vast typeof birds and their songs specially peacock. This place is magic. Absolute paradise! Madu and his staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our safari was well organised and Madu made sure we were well looked after. The food was superb and eating outside overlooking the lake during the evening was bliss. The hotel was without a doubt the best accomodation we have stayed at until now in Sri Lanka. The design is spot on. The layout of our “penthouse” was very well thought out and an excellent place to wind down after dinner. We have payed much more for other accomodations throughout our stay here that don’t even come close. The whole experience is almost a bonus on top of our Sri Lankan adventure. As for the safari, our very competent driver Dulita who we named Dr Dolittle took us on an unforgettable safari. We saw leopard, elephant, mongoose, monkeys, monitor lizards, crocs and countless beautiful birds. His spotting skills were second to none. A trip to remember for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

We had such a beautiful stay at My Resort Yala. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

Incredible host who took os out on a really nice evening tour! He arranged the safari for us the next day where we saw a leopard and elephant! He helped us get transportation to Mirissa as well the next day for a really good price! The view was beautiful and food was good. The location was a bit remote but really nice if you’re doing a safari. Can’t recommend enough:)

We had the best stay at Black Panther! Nalin is the kindest person ever and so helpful with everything! He took us around and spotted some super nice birds. He was really knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about them. He also helped with organizing a safari to Yala where we had a great time :) Also the rest of the family is so nice and the dinner we had was absolutely delicious, one of the best we had so far! The rooms are further really spacious and clean, felt really comfortable! We will definitely come back!

The manager was without doubt the most caring person we met during our 2-week stay in Sri Lanka. He was extremely helpful and understanding. Amazing dinner prepared on demand and brought to our own terrace.
