We booked this place on the day we stayed and what a gem of a find! The facilities were very comfortable. Very clean room and bathroom with a semi outdoor shower. My kids loved the shower heads! The breakfast cooked was beautiful. We had the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast of string hoppers and curries and it was devine. Then my children had fruit & French toast. The son or manager then showed us around their wonderful garden. My children absolutely adored it and were so excited to see monkeys on our way out.

This very affordable homestay is part of a young family's dream - and it really shows. It happens from time to time that I give accommodations the maximum 10/10. When it comes to Mango Roots, however, I have to give at least 11/10😉 The lovely host couple are extremely generous and welcoming - or as my wife exclaimed: -They are the nicest host couple we have ever met! The rooms and bathrooms were built five years ago and are very fresh, well-furnished and very clean. The beds are so comfortable, the a/c works quietly, the shower is nice with hot water, etc. etc. They have also invested in solar cell technology, rechargeable lamps and universal wall sockets that fit Euro plugs, among other plugs. The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe area and the two rooms are located on the upper floor of a separate building. Unfortunately, we did not have dinner there, but we did get a fantastic Sri Lankan breakfast and lots of new knowledge about fruits, plant cultivation and Sri Lankan cooking in the bargain. It is with great pleasure that we give our very best recommendations. A big thank you to you and your lovely children. 🙏🏼 See you next time! 😉

Best staff I have experienced. The guys were so friendly. They are amazing. The food and the spice route made this a 9+ experience. They deserve everything that is coming to them. Well done! We booked this hotel on our first day, since it was close to the airport, we might book on our last day as well.
