I liked many things about Nuga Retreat. First of all, the beautiful, natural surroundings with mountain views created a unique atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, providing convenience, and the outdoor pool was a great place to unwind. I also really appreciated the friendly and helpful staff who truly made an effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

I was prepared for this place to be good and a step up in terms of luxury compared to my other accommodation on the Pekoe Trail but my expectations were, in fact, exceeded. Manu is the property manager and he went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and all of my needs met. For a young gentleman he has a lot of hospitality experience and manages the property with professionalism and charm. Chef Bandula - what can I say? His meals were better than I would expect from a 5 star establishment. Everything cooked to perfection and presented to a high standard. An evening meal in the restaurant in front of a blazing fire was a highlight. Morgan, who provided general assistance, was always at hand and seemed like part of the furniture (in a good, traditional way). Duminda who worked as a butler was also attentive and professional and I am sure has a good career in F&B ahead of him. If you are doing the pekoe trail and have been kind of roughing it for a few days then this is a good place to recuperate, get some washing done and prepare yourself for more walking. It is quite away from the end point of Trail 20 and start point of 21 but it was easy enough to get a 3-wheeler from Uda Pussellawa - if you call Manu, he can also support with this. The 3-wheeler charged $14 for the 20km trip which was reasonable. All in all an excellent place to stay, I highly recommend it.

Stafford Bungalow is quite simply outstanding! We spent three unforgettable days there and will most certainly return as soon as possible. Besides the breathtaking beauty of its surroundings, and the cuisine that is out of this world, Stafford is run by the most incredibly meticulous, friendly and endearing team of staff. Christy is honestly one of the most remarkable young men I have had the privilege of meeting and he makes ones stay at Stafford absolutely unbeatable.

The hotel is charming, cozy and has a very homely feeling. It feels like you are in someones home. The rooms are big and spacious, incl the bathrooms. The hotel has a lovely garden in the backyard and I believe most rooms have an outdoor patio. The food/restaurant is very good too. We had almost all our meals at the hotel and the menu has many different variations such as local cuisine, arab, chinese, western etc. The staff is all very kind, gentle and goes the extra mile for you and your needs. The hotel is located approx 10min walking distance from the city center. You wont regret staying here at all!

We had a wonderful stay at the home stay. The owner helped us with everything and was really kind. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The rooms are also very clean and spacious. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone.

Despite being away from the center, I loved the hostel location. It was tranquil. Located just below a temple for a morning walk! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided great care with the breakfasts and any questions. The beds were sooo very comfortable! I ended up extending my stay here :)
