This stay was the best we have had in Morocco. We were immediately made to feel at home by Houssaine. His hospitality is unmatched. His food is authentic and delicious. Our stay was peaceful and we were in awe of the location and facilities, including the pool which was refreshing and clean. We recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet retreat. Just a few minutes away from Nkob, Auberge Bassou is like a peaceful oasis. Simple but tastefully decorated rooms around a lovely, green courtyard with lots of birds. Ibrahim and his sister running the place understand exactly their guests’ needs. There is great care in everything they do, from meals (excellent dinner, or a quick-fix meal in the afternoon) to an amazing tour in the Jebel Saghro. When we mentioned, that the next day while crossing the mountain towards Todra gorge, we were planning to do a few hours hike (by the way, the road to the north from Nkob towards Boumalna and Tinghir hardly shows up on Google maps but is in excellent condition), Ibrahim assured us that it was a great idea, told us about the tour he does for groups, usually 3 to 5 people, but not pushing us, nor trying to sell us anything. Still, we took up his offer and changed our schedule, and it became the absolute highlight of our ten days in Morocco. The central section of the Jebel Saghro is an amazing area, and having Ibrahim as our guide all day made it even more memorable (not to mention making it accessible without doing a 4-5 day hike which wasn’t an option for us). Spending an hour and a half with an Amazigh family, getting at least a hint of how they live out and beyond, without getting a ‘show’ for the tourists, was truly beyond our expectations (it took just 20 mins for my daughter and the three young girls of the family to become best friends even if without a common language). If you make it as far as Nkob, don’t miss this place.

The hotel is located in an old village, but not hard to find and easy to drive up. The car can be parked near the entrance. The owners met us already in the parking place and escorted us inside. No difficulties. The casbah is very beautiful - old but carefully renovated. Room - very spacious, clean and neat. Enough hot water, clean linen, silence and piece at night. The traditional style dinner and breakfast served on the patio is very delicious. The rooftop offers a panoramic view of the oasis, and at night you can look out from there at the stunning starry sky. Great shelter and rest for travelers! Actually, you feel as if you are not in a hotel, but visiting dear friends or family! Of course you will be welcomed with a fragrant moroccan tea. But during the whole visit you will be given the same attention - wondering if everything is in order, if you like the food, if you need any help, telling you about the house and so on. The hosts literally repaired a zipper on my bag! I have no idea how I would be traveling with open backpack across half of the country if it weren't for these wonderful people! The place, the facilities, the food, the staf, the view . the pool, really everything. The hosts are group of nice people, all of them. Even the little things make a difference like candlelight parfum in the rooms. Fantastic place! The impeccable service for the dinner provided by Mohammed.

One of the best stays we had in Morocco! Brahim was the perfect host, helpful before, during and after our stay at his place. The tajin was delicious, and he also gave us the best tea we had. Buildings are only 3 years old and very charming with modern facilities. Run by family members, where I was in very good hands of Khalid, who did all to make it a pleasent stay.

I very much enjoyed my stay at kasbah ben hamou. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to stay multiple days in n’kob and want to see the region. The host will happily show you the city, the oasis and the region. The breakfast was delicious. You can use the kitchen in case you want to cook tajine. The rooms are clean and well designed. I felt at home at this kasbah and would gladly come again!
