The hotel's location is very close to the historic centre with many restaurants, shops and even the market nearby, but it's situated on a quiet street so it's perfect for a peaceful rest after long treks and tours around Cusco and the sacred valley. The 24h reception is very handy for those coming or leaving at late/early hours. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and every well informed to answer any questions about tours, landmarks, transport. They had great recommendations for good restaurants or street food and traditional dishes. Royer and Sebastian helped me with very detailed info about where to go and what to see in Cusco and were always availabe to help with anything. I had to leave very early for a two-day trek and I was able to ask in advance for a packed breakfast and to store my large backpack there for a night. The hostel has a lathe dinning area, a well equipped comunal kitchen, they offer free coca tea and other types. It had a large comunal area with great light and also a darker games room to play movies or PlayStation. The breakfast included is very yummy, with many options of fruit, cereals, jam, ham and cheese, eggs or panakes, as well as juice and coffee or tea. The hostel was very tidy and cleaned every day and the bathrooms and showers were also spotless with great hot water pressure. The dorm beds were comfy and arranged in a capsule style with curtains, which gave you a lot of privacy. Each bed had it's own large locker. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed in the Way Kap Hostel in arequipa and got a discount showing my bracelet. I definitely recommend and would stay here again!

It’s hard to choose what I loved most about Spirit of the River Lodge, everything was truly wonderful. The location is magical and peaceful, with the sound of the river always in the background and barely any traffic passing by. We stayed twice, in two different rooms, and both were beautifully designed, cozy, and offered gorgeous views of the river. You can really feel how thoughtfully everything was created to respect and highlight the natural surroundings. The lodge has a sauna overlooking the river, direct access to the water, and a small yoga shala where I enjoyed my morning practice and reading. Claudia and Rudi were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They made us feel like family. We had dinner one night and breakfast each morning, and even as vegans, we felt so well cared for. The food was amazing. They also have lovely animals, a llama named Tupac and two sweet dogs, Max and Juanita, who added so much joy to our stay. The area is relaxing but also well located, with easy access to nearby towns and cities. We came back twice because we truly fell in love with the place. I can’t recommend it enough!

I had one of the most welcoming stays at this hotel, nestled in a beautiful area. It’s the perfect location for those looking to connect with nature and explore unique parts of Cusco that aren't widely known. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, featuring a lovely terrace with stunning views. The hospitality of Romulo and Gelga is truly exceptional. Romulo picked us up and ensured we were comfortable after a challenging bus ride. They were always available to answer our questions and provide directions. The following day, we enjoyed a fantastic horseback ride through the area, visiting the Templo de la Luna, the Wind Temple, Paqcha K'usillo, and Kusilluchayoc, the Temple of the Monkeys. We were fortunate to have Romulo as our guide; his extensive knowledge and passion for the region enriched our experience. Hearing the history from his perspective was a true honor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad that we could only book a few nights. I highly recommend this place—it's just a 20-minute drive from the center of Cusco, with taxis readily available. Romulo is always there to assist if needed.

Everything was just perfect! Cidelia and Yoel are the most lovely hosts and made sure I felt like home. The domes are spotless, the culinary lesson and food were amazing and the alpacas are the cutest things! Make sure to book the picnic, it was just divine. Thank you, I hope to be back one day ♥️
