A unique place. Passionately run by a unique man. If you are lucky, you will hear a piano concert (Chopin and Bach) performed by the owner. Everything here is perfect. Beautiful design of the shared kitchen located in an old winery. Beautiful large rooms with nice bathrooms.

Over two years I must have booked this property at least 4 times, but each time Covid struck ot TAP cancelled my flights! When I did fly TAP my departure was 5 hours late and I arrived late and in the dark! But it did not phase my hosts and I received a lovely welcome! Thank you! My room was full of goodies, but I can't promise you will find the same! Exceptional coffee, chocolates, biscuits, milk, a miniature Quintal do Freixo liqueur, orange juice etc Breakfast is no longer available, but the goodies made up for it. I must mention the coffee machine and pouches...they are fabulous and lots of them. So smooth and tasty...thank you for not buying rubbish as some do!! The room was delightful and everything was spotlessly clean with all sorts of items giving it a personal touch! Very convenient by rail station and shops a few yards away. The property is located in a traditional unspoilt, non-touristy village and had an amazing illuminated church when I stayed for Christmas.

Maria is an excellent hostess who speaks good english and made us feel very welcome, and always seemed to be on hand. The property is self-contained with everything needed to be self sufficient, with outdoor space for eating. It was very clean and comfortable, and Vila Franca has lots of character. The location was great for Lisbon and the many surrounding attractions in all directions.

We were greeted upon arrival by Luís’s beautiful mother who kindly showed us the accommodation. We loved how clean the place was . It was spacious and homey, with ample blankets to keep you warm. There was tea and coffee provided and some delicious home grown oranges left on the table to eat. The location was fabulous being a block off the Camino path and was wonderfully quiet which was perfect from a long days walk. Plus Luís offered to drive us to the supermarket for supplies. What a fabulous, kind man . Thank you Luis 🫶

What a fantastic find this place was for us! If you're looking for somewhere just 30 minutes drive from Lisbon (or there is also a rail network nearby) yet a peaceful rural setting then you're in for treat at House of Moitelas. In addition to the lovely location, Hilda and Nathalie are warm, welcoming hosts who make you feel very at home. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The swimming pool and surrounding area a great place to relax. It was also convenient to have parking on site - yet to only be a short drive from places such as Lisbon, Lisbon Airport, Obidos and Mafra.
