It's a little oasis! Loved the garden with it's different sitting arrangements and hammock. It's obviously the completely opposite of big chain hotels. Breakfast was fine and it's very nice to be able to help yourself with water, tea, coffee and fruit throughout the day.

The host was very welcoming and took time to speak to us and give us information. The value for money, I can’t believe how good value this place is. Lantern light is so well maintained, clean, romantic with the comfiest beds. We loved sitting out in the patio area with the fire on, it was our little oasis. I would recommend booking and staying here. We are glad to have found this place.

Very technologically advanced suites. Everything is via the Internet: communication, payment, password code is sent by email. Before check-in, the person at the online reception answered and resolved all our questions. The suites themselves are in a motel format and each has a parking space attached. The room has some European influence and is very cozy. Good cosmetics. Lovely bed. Fast Internet. In general, everything is great. We had a good time and recommend it!

From the moment we stepped out of our rental vehicle, the serene energy around The Inn was palpable. We were made to feel welcome and at home. Chokla received us with grace and hospitality. So many extras are added throughout to make guests feel genuinely treated. From water, cool drinks, fruit, cookies, coffee, tea, hot chocolate in the lobby to the most welcoming smell of freshly baked bread right in the room! On the counter, we found many more thoughtful provisions, and the small fridge was filled with water, more cool drinks, butter, milk, and jam for the bread. A beautifully set side table with quality crockery, flatware, and wine glasses made us decide to have our simple dinner of bread, wine and charcuterie right there. What a treat! The bed, pillows, and linen are superiour quality. The towels were all fluffy, spotless, and artfully folded. We found the bathroom amenities thoughtful and generous, too. Chef Robert treated us so kindly, his breakfasts are tasty, nutritious, and balanced. When we left for Tempe, Chef even brought us some extra slices of cornbread and butter for the road, insisting that we take more water and fruit too. What a serene retreat from the bustle. What genuine hospitality and generosity. May The In at Thunder Mountain continue to be a beacon of hospitality in the profound surroundings of Sedona.

Breakfast was delicious, creative, and served in a beautifully furnished dining room overlooking the red rocks of Sedona. The staff were efficient, friendly,, and were informative about the surrounding countryside. The location was breathtaking. In fact we drove the Sedona scenic loop and concluded the scene from the Penrose terrace was better. Everywhere in the house has huge windows overlooking the view.

    Great location in Sedona, the room had partial red rock views across the parking lot. The bathroom was updated and clean. They had all the usual amenities. We were on the second floor and there was no elevator, so keep that in mind. Considering the prices of hotels in Sedona, I think this was a fair value.

    You can tell this is an older motel that has been updated. The updates were nice and the rooms were fine for a one night stay. The breakfast area is rather small but you could take your breakfast out to the pool located across the parking lot. The buffet was basic; cereal, toast, yogurt, bagels with a few hot items as well. It was an acceptable motel if you plan to spend more time outside the motel than in. We did not use the pool but it looked nice although it is in the middle of the parking lot and you can hear the roar traffic.

    First time to Sedona, so learning experience. We liked being able to see the mountains while in bed along with balcony and doors which opened to it. The property is across the parking lot from a wonderful bakery for lunch breakfast and dinner. Next to the bakery is a decent pizza place. The property is easy to get to and away from the craziness of downtown Sedona but close enough to all the places of interest.

    Fantastic stay at the Matterhorn Inn for two nights in February. Bed was supper comfortable, room was clean, and perfect room temperature. Bed positioned so it looks straight out at the mountain to watch sunrise rise above it. Large, spacious room and the shower is both hot and powerful. Loved everything about it! Free parking a bonus too!
