I loved reading the history of the creator of this design - a New Zealander who got his idea after the 2011 earthquake in Auckland, when the city resorted to repurposing/reusing what they had to rebuild structure. I wandered around for my first 3 hours on the property, just taking photos, with my mouth agape, in awe. The complimentary breakfast, was one of the best I've ever eaten ANYWHERE. So many choices, such delicious home-made granola, all just extraordinary. The plants, the combination of colors, everything was just awe-inspiring. Also, the support staff, were incredibly kind, helpful, and English-proficient. They went out of their ways to be helpful, which I very much appreciated as a 71 year old woman.

The staff were great and it felt very safe. The rooftop pool was also excellent, though not heated, it felt amazing on a hot day!

The Ocean views from the balcony of the bungalows are incredible and there is an hamac where you can relax besides there are some seats and table where couple of times we enjoy a beautiful dinner. The kitchen is very well equipped if you feel like cooking and they even had excellent wine glases to enjoy a great" SALUD" The host Ximena which welcomed us when we arrived made us feel very comfortable and gave us many good tips about the Island ,Gracias Ximena.. Also Andrea who was the person that I was in contact before we arrive was very helpful and it inspired me to choose this wonderful place. This was a family trip for me my 3 sisters and my mother and we all felt the warmth of everybody that works there and most important they treat my mother Gloria like a Queen. Muchisimas Gracias.

Situated just 600 metres from Pea, Cabañas Kitai features accommodation in Hanga Roa with access to a private beach area, a garden, as well as free shuttle service. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The holiday home has family rooms. I visited Rapa Nui for two nights in December 2024 and Kitai Cabanas was really the best place to stay and made my short trip wonderful. The hosts are lovely persons and make the guests to feel welcome. Even before arrival communication was great and all questions have been answered quickly. Pick up at the airport was included and drop off at departure as well. The cottage is spacious, clean and a fully eqipped kitchen (which I did not use though, as Kitai Cabanas is next to many good restaurants). Water dispender is in the room, which was convinient. Room, bath and kitchen have been clean and I had a nice terrace with garden view. There are many lovely cats arround. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. I booked also an island tour with the hosts and Kevin is an excellent guide. Very knowlegable about the history and culture of Rapa Nui.

The cabin is perfect for one or two people, and it's in about a 15 minute walk from everything in the town. I loved my stay!
