The Hakgala Botanical Garden is within 11 km of the homestay. We recently had the pleasure of staying at S and D homestay in Nuwara Eliya and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly and helpful owner and his amazing family, who ensured a warm welcome and served for us delicious lunch (the dining experience was truly a delight). One of the highlights of this homestay is its’ beautiful view from the terrace: you can sea the Lovers Leap waterfall and tea plantations (walking distance). The room is spacious and cosy, even with the patchwork rug on the floor. There’s also a nice common living room. Overall, our stay at S and D Homestay was exceptional. The combination of the hospitable family, delightful meals, beautiful view and the refreshing cool air made it a remarkable experience.

The country house has family rooms. Staying here felt like visiting a close friend rather than just booking accommodation. Madu’s warmth and kindness made our trip unforgettable. The villa was beautifully maintained, and when the evenings got cold, he immediately brought us a heater to keep us comfortable. He was always there to answer any questions and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. His recommendations for places to visit were spot on – each one turned out to be 10/10. It’s rare to meet a host who puts so much heart into everything, and we’re so grateful for the experience.

This was an amazing cozy stay with the absolute sweetest family. They helped me out with transportation, planning out what to do in Nuwara Eliya, and the food was amazing! The location is really central too. I was really happy here, I can’t recommend it enough.

Situated in Nuwara Eliya and only 3.8 km from Gregory Lake, Shevyhaws features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. We loved our stay at Shevyhaws, and would love to stay there again. Chaminda and his family are wonderful guests, they could not do enough for you. Breakfast was delicious and had everything from fruit, to toast, jams and omlettes to curry and roti and pancakes. Accommodation is a bit away from town about 2.5 km, but that was not a problem as Chaminda gave us rides to and from town at no cost, whenever we texted him. He recommended a delicious vegetarian restaurant. He organised daytrips with his 4x4 Jeep at very good prices including the Horton plains, and some tea plantations and waterfalls. The Lovers leap with it's beautiful surroundings is 15 mins walking distance from Shevyhaws. Shower wàs hot and powerful and bedroom was spotlessly clean and included warm cosy blankets for the colder nights. Would strongly recommend to anyone considering.
