Expect a very basic but clean house and a fantastic owner. He organised all sorts of things for me, including a great safari. We were almost completely alone there and were able to marvel at a family of elephants with a baby twice. He showed me local traditions and I really enjoyed him as a host. In the morning I was able to watch playing monkeys for hours in front of the terrace. It was really fun.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Whioe experience is amazing. The facilities are wonderful, very tidy and clean. We visited the spice garden. The staff is incredible. They organized the safari for us, with pickup and dropoff at their hotel. The food is the best we tasted in Sri Lanka. They impressed us with buffalo yogurt and honey for dessert. For finish, they provided us the taxi to our next destination. Highly recommend them.

This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk and full-day security for guests. My hosts couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome. They are kind and generous. As a single female traveller I felt very secure in their compound. I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

Guests can relax in the garden at the property. Wadula Safari was amazing. We were greeted by the friendliest staff, taken for a walk around the jungle (where we saw monkeys, all kinds of birds, and lizards), and then served a delicious dinner. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable with amenities like coffee, tea, powerful AC and a modern bathroom. They also arranged a wonderful safari with a guide, and helped us speak with and find our taxi driver.

Every unit features a private bathroom and shower, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. Tranquil wild lived up to its name. It is right next to a lake with water buffalo in it. There are heaps of birds including peacocks and hornbills in the garden plus lots of monkeys, squirrels and lizards around. The garden is huge with mature trees and plenty of space. You can walk beside the lake and do a little exploring, really nice at sun rise or sunset. The swimming pool was excellent for a bit of relaxing. Anne and Amal were fantastic hosts answering all our questions and organizing our safari and other activities. I recommend having Amal on your safari. He is full of info and has a big camera lens to get those close ups the cellphones can't do. Their safaris go into block 5 and 6 which are a lot quieter ( in terms of jeep numbers) than the main Yala block 1. We saw elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, lots of birds, and 2 leopards. Also if you have the chance to have dinner and bonfire down by the lake shore then do it, we got lucky with a stunning night and full moon rising. The food, including breakfast was really good. If you are looking for somewhere to relax with nature then this is it.

Bandarawela is 32 km from Jetwing Kaduruketha - Level 1 Certified. Free private parking is available on site. Liked everything…staff were brilliant, so helpful and caring. Our paddy view room was really lovely, comfortable bed and great bathroom. Pool was fantastic, 25m long and very clean and warm. We had half board and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Loved the location, just wish we’d booked and extra night to explore the surrounding area.

A very beautiful place — the room was clean, modern, and equipped with everything we needed. There was a lovely garden all around, a natural water reservoir nearby, and a wonderful restaurant. Breakfast was delicious and served in the restaurant in a charming setting. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful; he welcomed us with coffee upon arrival and showed us all the local attractions. I highly recommend this place!

Exquisite stay with excellent service. They really give attention to details with compliments to the manager Lucky. The overall feel of the villa is luxury. The online photos already look amazing, but in real life it is even better with a majestic entrance and beautiful lights. They serve great food, I especially loved the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. They even accommodated our driver. The private villa is beautiful with comfortable beds (on second floor), modern bathroom with natural roof light and a cozy living room. We even had the luxury of a private pool, but otherwise there is a lovely common pool. Overall best stay so far in Sri Lanka with excellent service!!
