Excellent hotel amidst a scenic location. Although the valley and the river are the main highlights, the hotel itself is also very premium. We had dinner at the restaurant which was really delicious. Breakfast was also good, and the location on terrace just adds to the experience. The shower in the bathroom was just amazing.

Room was comfortable and location of the stay was very close to the canyon and waterfall. Hostess was very accommodating with showing us the amenities. Breakfast is big and she gave us her own farmed honey and home brewed tea.

Very friendly owners convey positivity and kindness!🥰 They have many products that they produce themselves, such as raki, jam, all homemade that they even sell at economic prices. If you want to experience the quiet life of a small town, it is the perfect place with its own "imperfections" 😍 Ideal for 1-2 nights where you get the taste of peace and harmony and the warmth of a family environment with lots of smiles and generosity 🤩

Meta is in a traditional small village high up in the mountains. The road itself on which you reach Gusmar is a miracle - beautiful valleys, high rocky peaks, marvellous waterfalls, good quality asphalt and exciting hairpins. Villa Meta has its own garden offering great privacy , possibility to chill, relax and enjoy the view of surrounding mountain scenery. The place is very remote, only a few families live in the area - who are very friendly by the way - which gives you a feeling that you are out of the fast paced daily civilization rush and offers you perfect opportunity for a peaceful rest. The Nivice Canyon near Gusmar is a must to visit. The Uspoiled nature, the force of water and erosion made stunning rock creations, super high stone walls, breath taking waterfalls and Crystal clear mini lakes in which you can have a baths. The whole place is so beautiful and untouched that you only see such in the movies. We have spent two days in Nivice Canyon with family and dog, then spent an other two days visiting the Seaside near Borsh which is a 40 mins drive from Villa Meta. The road offers brilliant views, the Ionian sea is very clear, the shore is sandy or covered with small white oval rock pieces like the ones you see in Kneipp spas. To this holiday we took our Mountain Bikes with us and rode an other two days in the region on rocky singletracks, alpine roads and western-like highlands. Alltogether we stayed 6 nights in Villa Meta - which offered generous space in and outside (we were 3 plus a dog), quality furniture, well equipped kitchen and bathroom, not very fast but liveable internet & wifi. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, showed us around in the area and adviced which places to visit, how and when. They provided tons of food, home - made milk and cheese, home grown fruit and vegetables. They live in a city nearby and brought an other ton of food in the middle of the week in case we may starve🫣😊.

Zhulat is a small mountain village that offers a truly authentic Albanian experience — you’ll likely be the only tourists or foreigners there. It’s hard to put into words what we experienced in the home of Fatmir and Fjona. If you’re seeking the real Albania, far from tourist resorts, this is the place for you. Here, you’ll encounter true Albanian hospitality. The house has belonged to Fatmir’s family for generations — their son is the 10th generation to live here. It’s a traditional stone house with a beautiful garden, full of history and decorated in authentic Albanian style. Each morning, Fjona prepares a rich and delicious breakfast made from local and homegrown ingredients. The garden is simply stunning — and much of what you eat comes directly from it. We were invited to a traditional Albanian dinner prepared by Fjona — homemade and full of local flavors. The next day, they even welcomed us for a delicious lunch. Staying here wasn’t just about accommodation — it was about connection, and a deep experience of real Albanian life. The place is calm and quiet, surrounded by mountains, with a refreshing river nearby. Gjirokastër is only about 30 minutes away. Fatmir and Fjona are warm, welcoming, and truly kind hosts. When we return to Albania, we will definitely come back to this place.

Perfect place for overnight stay in Tepelene. Very tasty breakfast.

Small but very well put together accommodation in a great location, the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We were travelling by bicycle and they had space to secure the bikes overnight and made it easy for us arriving. Our only small criticism was that there weren't as many plug sockets in the room as we would like...

Such a unique stay surrounded by nature and animals! Very welcoming hospitality. We loved the fire place inside and doing a small hike as the sunset around the property.
