It’s like traveling back in time. I can’t describe how beautiful it is. The staff is just amazing, friendly and helpful. They have Chinese traditional clothes and you can try them on and make pictures. One of a kind experience. Bed seemed first hard, but I slept like a baby.

I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

Everything! Very beautiful traditional courtyard mansion hotel in the heart of the ancient city. The room was very well appointed and comfortable, with a lot of nice touches. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were superb, very attentive and helpful. They’ve offered free pick up and drop off to the train station, which was very convenient. They gave us excellent suggestions for eating places and attractions. They help us to organise our laundry. And more and more! If ever back in Pingyao we will definitely stay here again!

Despite being in a different country, we immediately felt at home thanks to the warm and thoughtful atmosphere. The hotel is located in the northern part of the city, which is ideal for visiting Pingyao and exploring the area comfortably. A special mention goes to the hotel manager, who welcomed us with delicious local snacks waiting in our room — a kind gesture that added a personal touch to our stay. This is a family-run hotel with the whole family pitching in. They were delightful and keen to be helpful with lots of cups of tea, advice and assistance with purchasing tickets. It felt like I was staying with friends. Very little english, but fearless with using translation apps. Very thoughtful - gave me a bottle of water for the train home after dropping me at the station. The standout for this property was the staff. I wish them every success with their business.

Excellent experience staying inside Pingyao ancient town. Highly recommended, value for money. Great location near to the main business street inside the ancient. family run mansion, Eshan was very helpful and share all relevant information needed for tourist. He also make arrangement for transportation from train station. Staffs were very helpful, always go beyond.
