Cute, well appointed, brand new cabins as of 2022. Remote, but well stocked with electric hot plate and pot, coffee and coffee maker, and mini fridge. And a nice little pool! Definitely don't recommend driving through Hojancha unless you're up for a fairly bumpy/off-road experience. Instead, go through Santa Rita - same amount of time from Nicoya, but way smoother!

The location of this place is just out of this world - a short walk to one of the most beautiful (and next to empty!) beaches I've been to with a difficult to top sunset view. The aircon worked well which was much appreciated. Our room was spacious with a lovely terrace with a hammock. The owner and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. Lovely breakfast on the restaurant terrace with a view.

Location was great, breakfast was good, apartments are really big but cozy, housekeeping is very clean, the whole resort is super nice. But what/who really made the whole stay exceptional was Barbara and Irina. Friendliest and most helpful people I've ever met. They live for what they do and their hospitality is just beyond!

Everything was more than great. After 1 day i already felt like home there. Especially the whole team made the stay awesome! Super close to the beach, nice shared kitchen and open spaces to get to know people easily. Came there twice, at the beginning and at the end of the trip, bc I already missed Eso. El Colibri is a true hidden gem a hop skip and jump from the amazingly beautiful Playa Carrillo. This is our third stay at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt welcomed and treated as family. The room was spacious and exceeded our expectations. The beds were comfortable, and the little kitchenette had all the conveniences to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The two pools were just right for a dip to get out of the midday sun and with the beach a mere five-minute walk away was so convenient for an early morning swim and walk. Breakfast, which was included, was a choice of local or American with a la carte choices as well. We had dinner one night at their wonderful restaurant where my steak was done to perfection. Did I say we had a wonderful stay? :-)
