It was very nice to stay at the spacious appartment, Cindy was very helpful with tips where to eat and what to do in Mindelo, was always reachable and very flexible, too. A nice breakfast (we could choose out of a menu) was brought every day to the door by gorgeous Marlene, and we could use the washing machine, which kind of saved us. Thanks a lot! Full recommendation!

As we were not on site I have given the best possible rating based on my experience of the friendly service I was met with. In the event of an incursion, we were prevented from using our booking. This created a precarious situation for us, but we were met only by the polite helpfulness of Residencia Marhavilha. They were our good problem solvers, and with this as experience, we believe that the rest of their service must be at least as good. Therefore, we give this accommodation our highest rating, and we would definitely book this place again and can highly recommend it. Just keep in mind that there are 2 places called Mindela and be sure that you book Mindela in Cape Verde and not in Portugal. Residencia Marhavilha, fives tars service👍👍👍

Everything was perfect! Sonia and the staff were super nice, helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and fan on the ceiling helped a lot to sleep better as the weather was pretty humid. The breakfast was good as well. But the highlight is definetely the view: we loved to chill there with a drink or a book. Absolutely recommended!

    The staff was amazing, and it was lovely to be able to go and visit the shelter. Even in the hostel you can enjoy some of the animals. You can cuddle with the cats, and there are some dogs. Even with the animals there, the hostel is super clean! The facilities are basic but good. It's a very nice place to meet new people and explore the city.

    Great location, spacious room and well equipped kitchen in terms of cooking tools, plates and cuterly (note that you do need to provide all your own ingredients, down to cooking oil and salt, unless someone has left something behind).     Friendly staffs, animal-friendly, it has cats and dogs (what more can I ask for!), nice atmosphere (we met cool friends from there), good value for money, nice kitchen!, we really loved the rooftop area - the view from there was very nice, especially during the sunset, very close to the grocery stores, nice cafe around, and 5 min to the beach!

    Perfect location - a few minutes from the warm water beach with water as blue as Cancun or Cuba. The shared dorms are only 2 people which is perfect, with towels and pressed laundry available. The owner is hospitable and runs a mission to help all the stray cats and dogs on the island so you’ll meet lots of backpackers and volunteers

    I would come back because -it's easy to feel at home (there is a common space with sofas and a table fe), - the owner is so friendly and helpful, -I like it a lot that they provide medical care and homes for cats and dogs, - it was the best spot in Kaapverdië (São Vicente and Santo Antão) where we stayed (5 in total) where we got information how the city/country works, tourist information,... - perfect for singles or when you arrive
