Ulbster Arms is a very special hotel. On arrival, we sat out in the beer garden (on a beautiful warm Scotland day) and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and plentiful breakfast. Our room was very large, beautifully decorated and we had a comfortable, large bed. Staff were so friendly, especially the young girls serving in the restaurant.

I Loved the location and how immaculate the house was. The house has absolutely EVERYTHING you need. Washing machine , laundry coutamints, kitchen utensils, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, towels, oven ,WiFi, bath,shower,hoover, highchair, travel cot and so much more. The hosts were extremely helpful too. Lidl is a stone throw away wich is perfect and it's on the NC500 route too. Beautiful beach within walking distance and safe parking too outside the house. Lovely enclosed garden for the children ♥️

The hosts were so amazing. They had a little sitting area and brought us tea and snacks when we first arrived. My daughter was in their play area building things and it felt really nice to come home to at night. It was quiet and yet still close to amenities in the area. The bathroom was huge and my daughter was so excited for the tub.

The room was lovely and warm and had everything we needed. We just stayed one night on our way to Orkney and it was good to be able to have dinner downstairs as it was quite cold and we really appreciated our hot breakfast before our ferry ride to Orkney the next morning. We would stay here again.

    A stunning location for our trip around the North Coast. The rooms were impeccable - one inside the hotel, one in the lodges outside. Gorgeous setting. Quiet, peaceful. The food was amazing, too.

    Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff are attentive and multi-skilled working in different areas of the hotel. On reception we were guided to our room. Location excellent - especially if you need to do a night's stay before heading over to The Orkney Islands, as it is only a quick drive to the barge.

    This is a really dog friendly hotel Staff were friendly and helpful. Young staff managing bar and bar meals were hard working and lovely. Food was great. Loved the library area to sit and have drinks. Good distance from the Orkney ferry.

    Loved this modern and spacious hotel in ample grounds, it seems to be a draw to Fisher folk and is geared up for fly fishermen on the river that it is situated by. The food was great as was the ambiance in the restaurant with cheerful and helpful staff to boot. And dog friendly too.
