The location was beautiful and peaceful. Loved the manor and all of the staff were especially attentive ,helpful and polite. The Spa was wonderful and we had heavenly spa treatments from Natalie and Rosie who were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious too.

The cottage is so lovely & homely, it's equipped with everything you could possibly need. The terrace is a sun trap in the afternoon & the donkeys popping their heads over the wall make it extra special. Andy & Sam are brilliant hosts & made us feel very welcome & we will definitely be returning

We had a perfect stay from check in. We were welcomed by Nicky and shown to our lovely accommodation. The rooms in the lodge building were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern with a very powerful shower. Our evening meals and breakfast cooked by John were exceptional. The hotel is in a quiet location with countryside views and has plenty of free onsite parking.

The house was very well stocked , very roomy , heating great and all facilities good including the beautiful heated pool which we used a lot . Excellent place for children with playgrounds, pool etc . Lovely pub around the corner with excellent food . You’ll need a car but the roads are easy once you find the main roads

We spent two days in a very nice place, feeling like in a country side, enjoing it. The food was very good and the room had a nice view to the garden. Thank you Nicky, very kind all the time, she helped us a lot to be in time for our departure!

My needs were functional - I had a close relative in Barnstaple hospital, but I also needed to work online during the day. The Shippon has turned out to be my perfect home from home - so much so that I extended my original 5 nights to be 2 weeks. The hosts, without being intrusive made sure that I knew they were there should I need anything. I can’t rate The Shippon or the hosts highly enough. Thank you

    We were house hunting in the area and needed a dog friendly place to stay, The Mole fitted the bill and was very competitively priced (weekday/term time) so we booked without doing any more research and were expecting a bit of a Butlins vibe… we couldn’t have been more wrong! The grounds were amazing (the views!), our accommodation was spacious, clean and lovely, the communal buildings well kept and welcoming, the restaurant was great. Just wished we’d had time for tennis / swimming / axe throwing!

    Very impressed and lovely location very pleasant staff very dog 🐕 friendly and our boy Hector loved the inclosed doggy run it was all perfect for what we were looking for and will certainly return. Ps we here out of school holidays but activities here for all ages.

    Booked for one night before our wedding day - the staff were so accommodating and friendly! Our room was made up beautifully and with a complementary bottle of bubbles to celebrate getting married! The accommodation is dog friendly - our Golden Retriever received plenty of treats and enjoyed his stay too! Thank you again The Mole team and look forward to staying with you again soon!
