Hotel El Picnic is truly a gem at Lake Atitlán! From start to finish, our experience here was nothing short of exceptional. The accommodation is situated on a hillside, offering breathtaking views of the lake—a sight you’ll never forget. The open tent experience, where you can sleep under the stars with an incredible view of the water, was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. The food here is fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and made with love. A special mention goes to the homemade bread, which is a true delight. There’s also an on-site beer garden and bakery, adding to the charm of the property. The owners Gaby & Jochen are wonderfully friendly and always available to help, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The property is nestled in the heart of nature, offering peace, tranquility, and a unique connection to the environment. Another rare and much-appreciated feature in Guatemala is the availability of hot water—a small luxury that makes a big difference. Lastly, everything is impeccably clean and well-maintained, showing the care and effort the owners put into every detail. If you're looking for a magical stay at Lake Atitlán with excellent service, delicious food, and an unforgettable experience in nature, Hotel El Picnic is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

The Sunset Lodge was a paradise for my partner and I. The view of Lake Atitlan from our room was breathtaking, and the room itself was our own little oasis. The in-house chef made the best plant-based meals we'd ever had, and we got to see fireworks across the lake while we had dinner. We were actually sad to leave the Sunset Lodge after two nights, because this place truly felt like home. We felt so safe and the staff was so friendly. We got to use the private kayaks, we got to swing at the end of the private dock, and we were able to use the boat taxis to visit other villages around Lake Atitlan with ease. We will definitely be returning to Sunset Lodge in the future, and we will cherish our memories there forever.

Great location right on the water. The location made it easy both to go into town , eat at local restaurants, visit other towns and rent kayaks. Apartment itself was very clean and had a great aesthetic. Would definitely recommend for a nice relaxing stay. Kind hosts who were happy to help with anything.

Super friendly helpful staff, gorgous scenery at the lake, very comfortable rooms. We had a large Junor Suite with chimney and this perfect to relax during rain periods. The restaurant is fantastic with delicious food.

This hotel has a nice view on the lake and volcanos. It is near the lake and the main shopping street. Room is very spacious and you have everything that you need. You can chill on the balcony and embrace the nice view. We liked to swim in the pool and to stay in jaccuzzi. Miguel was very nice and made us very tasty coctails at the pool bar.

Friendly & helpful staff. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was beautiful. The mineral springs were 40C and the music being played was very calming. Instant hot water in the shower. Waking up to hear birds was just wonderful.
