Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Ranbirpura

What can I say, we arrived at Dakpa House and simply found the place amazing. We had arranged to check in a little earlier than normal due to connecting flights and could not believe the property was every bit as good as the photos. The owner and his team personnally greeted us on our arrival and guided us as to how best to adjust to the altitude (Ladakh is at a height of approx 3500m we you are breathing 30% less oxgyen than at sea level). We then settled into our room and the view, breathtaking. Each morning we awoke to a view of snow capped mountains and all we had to do was raise our heads from the pillows. Our room was very spacious and would put a number of 5 star hotels to shame. Then the food, every meal was a small banquet with the even meals consisting of no less than 5 seperate dishes and then desert, all freshly prepared with produce they grow themselves. Anything we could think of the chief was more than happy to prepare. We had planned a day trip to Pangong Lake on day 3 and the team even prepared a basket of food and drinks for us to take with us so we could ebjoy the view even futher. After several discussions with the owner, we discovered he is also an experienced rock and ice climber who regularily takes groups climbing. With views of where we could have treked if we had know we would have tried to organise a longer stay in Ladakh and organised a short trek ourselves. We cannot praise highly enough the property, staff and owner for our stay in Dakpa House. It is definately on our list to re-visit in the future.

Great location, very friendly people, clean rooms. Less then 10 minutes walking distance from the main Market. The quest house has a great garden, its family run. Every room has its own bathroom and hot water all day. Great deal !

I absolutely loved my stay at Raybo. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. As an added bonus they have a dog who is super cute. Everyone that I met there was lovely and created a great vibe in the communal spaces. It's located only a short walk away from the main square. The view from the terrace is beautiful and the hostel itself was easy to find thanks to the directions they provide. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Oh, I don't take hot showers but I think that may not always be available based on what my roommates had said. I think you need to plan what time you'll take a shower if you want to ensure you'll have access to hot water.

Location is perfect, in a quiet area but very close to the Market and Palace. They make you really feel you are at home and the terrace views are MINDBLOWING

I chose this place primarily because of its proximity to the center, and also because it wasn't a hotel. I didn't think the family that runs the place would have such an impact on me. My first impression was very, very good when Mr Kolto greeted me. He asked me to rest for a few hours before heading into the city so I wouldn't get sick. It was nice that he paid attention to the guest. And even after that, they fulfilled all my requests, they were very helpful. Due to my travels, I returned several times for 2-3 nights, and it was like coming home. The rooms are clean, spotless. Comfortable, large room, equipped bathroom. It was very good that there was a kettle in the room. The place is close to the center, yet quiet because it's not right on Changspa Road, but you have to walk down a small path to get there (1-2 minutes). There's a water filter in the hallway, so I didn't have to buy plastic bottled water. When I was traveling, I could leave my larger bag there so I didn't have to carry it. I also asked for breakfast, I didn't even have to order in advance, I just knocked and it was served. A nice, attentive family, I'm grateful to have found them in Leh. I don't think I'll go anywhere else next time.

Excellent hostel. We stayed in a cozy room with our own toilet and shower. The location is great, not exactly in the center, but a 10-minute walk away. Karma (the hostel owner) is a hero. He was always helpful and really assisted us at the end when our plans suddenly changed. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Heart and Heaven Homestay was like a home from the first moment. The location is great, just one street away from the main market, yet on a quiet side street, making it perfect for rest and relaxation. The homestay is very stylish, everything is clean, the rooms are huge and comfortable, the furniture is beautiful. The whole place has a really welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, it was just so good to come back here. The rooftop terrace with the full panorama is simply breathtaking, the most beautiful view you can imagine. But what really makes this place special are the wonderful people who run it. Not only are they super nice, funny, helpful, and flexible, but they also have a special ability to build community. The rooftop terrace has been the scene of countless deep conversations, big laughs, and cool music. Still smiling if I think back, full of amazing memories. :) Thank you for everything, hope to see you again somewhere, sometime.
