First off if you think that for 8$ you're going to be staying at the Ritz then maybe you will be disappointed. However if you are looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience then you'll be fine. The welcome that you get from Fareed is only exceeded by the quality (and quantity) of his wife Roransa's home cooked food. Really it's Sri Lankan hospitality at it's best.

The warm welcome from Kosala and Vipul has been the highlight of our stay. They really made us feel at home. As we arrived, they were two strangers, but as we left, they were to very good friends to us. They were very helpful with everything, answered all our questions, and Kosala's cooking was always delicious. They were always keen on making sure we were satisfied with everything. The room and bathroom were both very clean and confortable. The bed was also very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the big terrace with table and chair which allowed us to regularly relax, eat and/or work on our computers. The place is situated about 15min drive from the main center but this allows for a very calm and quiet place. Kosala and Vipul's english is very good which allowed for really great exchanges.
