A fabulous location! No shoes necessary, as you relax, snorkel, paddle, walk up the mountain, feast on the Chef’s daily special’s and relax with host, Fabrice.

Such a fabulous location, right over the beach 🏝️, with some of the most glorious sunsets I have ever seen. A reef 5 minutes swim off the shore, and bioluminescence in the water at night … it’s hard to believe this place exists.

Jean-Michel, Florida and the whole team are very helpful and kind. For example, we asked Jean-Michel in an email that we would like to stop at a "supermarket" to buy few things during our transfer from the airport to Doany Beach. He said okay. And soon he sent an email that he had noticed we would arrive on Sunday afternoon when shops are closed and offered that he buys what we need if we send a list, Wow. Doany Beach is beautiful with its white sand beach (no trash only shells) , crystal clear ocean in front of you, no dangerous currents, beautiful corals and fish for snorkelling (it is easier to find them in low tide). And there are no other tourists, maybe another family as guests. We could see sunrise even from our bed, we only had to open our front door facing to the ocean at 6 am. Brown (female) and black (male) lemurs are coming each evening or sometimes in the afternoon. We got bananas from the staff to make lemurs eat from our hands and let us stroke them (except their tails). As there are no shops or markets, you eat what you get. But do not worry, meals are perfectly delicious and sufficient and as a bonus, you eat in the garden with ocean view. Weather (sunny, 29-30 C, no rain during the day) and the ocean temperature were great. Doany Beach has filtered drinking water. We had no problems with WiFi. There is hot water in the bathroom. You may ask for how many night you should book. It can easily be one week. Lokobe Reserve is in walking distance, Jean-Michel came with us to show the way. It is worth checking Doany Beach's own website, where you see many boat tours offered (e.g. Lemurialand+Mont Passot+Andilana beach, Tanikely, Sakatia, Komba, Iranja, etc.). There are also many other program possibilities, like fishing, water skiing, face painting. You also see the prices on the website. Boat trip price is usually for the boat and not per person. Beautiful bungalows in a paradise garden built with respect for the surrounding nature. We couldn't stop taking pictures! Adrian and his team are great. We had a wonderful time listening to the sound of the waves and enjoying great food. We watched breathtaking sunsets from the pool with a drink or we went snorkeling on the coral, which is a few meters from the resort. They offer great tours. We went snorkeling with turtles (they really swim next to you :)), went to see lemurs in Lemuria Land, we saw how people live in a local village... Everything was perfectly organized. Veronika resort has its own dive center. We went diving for the first time, which was an incredible experience for us and our children. This place is simply magical, in contact with beautiful nature, surrounded by friendly staff. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful accommodation with an outstanding garden, wonderful beach nearby, very friendly and helpful staff, great food! We had a lot of nice hotels in Madagaskar, but this was my favourite. Unfortunately we stayed only one night, but if we would plan again we would definitely stay longer! Great place to relax from a round-trip.

Amazing experience. Excellent staff, Incredible location.....and, of course...the lemurs...!! Antoine is a brilliant host, he couldn't have been more helpful. Makako Lodge is highly recommended.

Despite confirmation # they couldn’t find the reservation from Booking.com. Did manage to sort it out and they agreed to match the reserved price. Clean spacious room with 2 beds. Fan and mosquito nets, generator turned off at 2am though so got a little warm.

La coin sauvage is your next little paradise .. away from the crowd, right on a beautiful sandy beach, next the a protected areas. The accommodation is lovely, the connection with nature is amazing. Excellent food and most of all amazing hospitality. From the moment I step in I felt like coming back to family. The Italian owners are absolutely charming and welcoming. Carlotta is running the place perfectly with a real human touch. I extended my stay since it really feels like a home away from home and I would love to come back one day. Thanks again for everything.
