Wow, what an amazing hotel right in front of the ocean. The view from our room (small double room) and from the pool was stunnig, you could overlook the ocean. The hotel and the pool are perfect for relaxing. The garden of the hotel felt like paradise, a lot of plants and there are also monkeys in the trees and a lot of colibris. And last but not least: the owners are so friendly and helpful. The host drove us und our baggage to the marina the next day, thank you for that! We were super sad that we could only stay one night and would have loved to stay longer!

We stayed in the hostel for one night before our 6 days sailing trip from Puerto Lindo to Cartagena. It's a nice place for backpackers close to the shops and restaurants - they have a big hand made map on the wall which shows all the spots around the village with a walking duration. The closest restaurant - Casa X - is about 10 minutes by walk and the Linton Bay Marina port is about 25 - 30 minutes by walk. The place isn't very touristy and it can be difficult to get there if you don't have a car. We arrived by bus from Portobelo but there aren't any visible bus stops so we asked the driver to stop in front of the hostel. You won't find a schedule on the internet so you always have to ask locals about the transportation (we found the bus schedule written on board in the Casa X restaurant). Taxi is very expensive and you will hardly find an Uber in this area. The hostel itself was very quiet and clean with friendly staff and delicious breakfast and I really liked they provided shampoo and shower gel. Rooms are clean and big enough to feel comfortable, there are fans so you don't feel too hot during the day and the kitchen is well furnished. If you are looking for a place to stay in Puerto Lindo and you are backpacker on the budget I definitely recommend to choose Hostel Wunderbar.

Very friendly and super helpfull staff of the Cocotal hotel. I dont speak spanish and the manager always helped me with good advise. There is a great deck right on the sea with nice seating where you can watch the sunset and have a drink. Me and my 7 years daughter had a great relaxung time. Recommended for family trip.

Beautiful place just next to the sea but without being right next to the noise of town. You could see the sea right in from of you when opening your bedroom door. We had a private bathroom, basic furniture and hangers along with 2 chairs on the sand next to the sea. There is a little kitchen to make basic food which was highly welcomed. The staff is very friendly and helpful and you can pay by card.

We traveleld with two 85+ seniors. The team was fantastic in accomodating them (at the restaurant they even went the extra mile by preparing an off menu salt free soup every night!!!). The room was comfortable and they enjoyed it by themselves. The breakfast selection and menus are great and in general the food is excellent. We booked for three nights and ended up staying six. We did not want to leave our parents alone so we did not take the boats to the beaches, but after asking Eddie at the restaurant about quiet beaches we could go with seniors, not only he gave us detailed instructions, but also all of them were top recommendations and a short drive (from 15' to 45') from the hotel. NOTE: They are not advertised... they are just the beaches local familes use. The hidden one at Cacique (just a 300m walk through the woods) has nothing to envy to any top beach. Simply fantastic. Thank you for sharing. As a bonus, spending the evening with a cold one at the dock was a great way to end each day.
