Great location as lots of the apartments in Tomar town don't have parking, here you park right outside the house with a great view up to the monastery up on the hill above. The old town area is also a through route for traffic so is noisier at night, but, because its slightly out of town, this guest house is nice and quiet, so bear this in mind if you are a light sleeper. It's just a 5 minute walk down a gentle hill to the old town part of Tomar, you'll find restaurants and bars this side with more just a few minutes walk over the bridge. The house has two air conditioners (we had them on heating as it was February), one in the main room and one in the bedroom. As it has a tile floor for the heat of the summer, in the winter months you'll need some slippers to walk around in. It has a full kitchen with gas oven, fridge, stove top, toaster, coffee machine etc, pots pans, cutlery, plates etc. If you need a food shop there is a Lidl and other supermarkets 5 mins drive away. Nice big kitchen table to eat on and a sofa to watch TV on. Bathroom with nice hot shower, towels are provided Free WiFi and free night security provided by Lady the dog (very friendly) with back up provided by the cat, also very friendly. Alexandra, the host, was in touch with us a few days before we arrived and gave us directions if we needed them. She made sure we felt welcome and couldn't help us enough. You need to check out her bar/restaurant in the old town for some Portuguese style Tapas as well as bigger meals. She is also an expert on all things Tomar and speaks very good English We don't have any negatives about our stay at all.

It's not called a refuge for nothing. A wonderful experience of being in a rural area, Luis is an excellent host - welcoming and friendly. Would have liked to stay longer to get to know him better. The house is open concept, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Very comfortable. Nice beds, a great space to feel at home.

    The location was fantastic. In a quiet, natural setting yet close enough to walk to Tomar and the Convent of Christ. There is also a beautiful view of the Convent. The house was fully equipped for a long stay, there was a nice outdoor area and a very friendly little dog.

    This vila is extraordinary. Beautiful, clean, incredible views, peaceful, and great value for the private vila for 6 guests. The multiple balconies and private pool deck were equal to 5-star hotel. Fully equipped, and comfortable. Plentiful free gated parking, and pet friendly. Our wonderful host Pedro hS done a magnificent job creating a beautiful vacation destination.

    Beautiful house and beautiful garden, located on a quiet street only 15 minutes walk from Tomar town center. Great view of the Covent from the garden and the dog and cat were both very sweet. The hosts live in a house next to the guest house but they gave full privacy, with self check-in and check-out. Wish I stayed longer!

    Simply our favorite place to stay in one of our favorite places in Portugal. Sónia is a great host, and we always feel so welcomed at O Paço. The rooms are amazing, and pet friendly, one of few in Tomar. The pool area is great and the easy access to the Belpaço restaurant next door ( also highly recommended) is a plus. Rooftop patio with stellar view is a great place to relax. Easy walk to the heart of Tomar. Grocery market across the street. We love this place.

    Beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location with lots of free parking nearby. Sónia was an exceptional host, very friendly and welcoming of both us and our dog. Breakfast was super and it was much appreciated that our dog was able to join us too. We will definitely be returning but will ensure we book a longer stay next time!

    This guest house is conveniently central with everything you need for self catering and has a great view of the convento de cristo. The owner, Alexandra, is very welcoming and friendly and made our stay really enjoyable. Kelly the cat and Lady the dog are great pets and came to say hello everyday!

    Great location but it is not pet friendly at all. The host literally told me it wasn’t good for her to rent to me because I have a larger service dog. She was very passive aggressive and ruined the entire stay, making me feel unwelcome.
