We were unable to fulfil our stay as our car broke down en route. We only notified the hotel on the day and they were gracious enough to take our circumstances into consideration and not to charge us which would have been their right. We were very impressed and grateful for the flexibility they showed. We are hoping to come and stay in the future. Thank you.

Set in a former farmhouse just outside historical Tongeren, Hoeve de Sterappel offers an on-site à la carte restaurant, an outdoor terrace and soundproof guest rooms. The owners and staff are so welcoming. Breakfast was amazing.

Lots of space, both inside and outside, a swimming pond, a sauna and hottub, hammocks, BBQs and fireplaces. Surrounded by lush, green terrain abundant with birds and of course, the donkeys. I'll miss the sound of them... The surrounding areas are good for walking/cycling, but you won't find much in terms of bars/restaurants/shops. Whether that's good or bad depends on what you're looking for.

The hosts were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Communication was great, both before and throughout our stay. The house exceeded our expectations, it was even more beautiful than we imagined. The house had everything we needed like fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, even extra cots and little thoughtful touches like coffee stocked up. It made the whole stay super easy and comfortable. Plenty of space for everyone, and it just felt really homey. Would definitely recommend for anyone traveling with a bigger group
