The bush was filled with birds including a kākā and some parakeets. It is also on the way out to Tāwharanui where we brought our red lights and encountered kiwi almost right away at night.

Our hosts provided a range of breakfast food, as well as items from their own pantry that we wanted. It was all impeccably clean. Our dog enjoyed the interactions with our hosts and freedom to roam the living area, as well as the wooded area adjacent.
