After climbing a most impressive pass comprising of no more than 9 hairpin bends we popped out at the top to find the town of Wayanad. A jeep ride later traversing tea plantations we entered the heavily forested wonderland, which is the setting of the Wayanad Wild Resort. This CGH property is very well appointed, suitably understated to blend into the surroundings and clearly well managed by David Raju and his team. David is a leading naturalist in India having recently compiled two field guides on southern and central India with one on western India about to go to press. We saw things here that we had not seen elsewhere, particularly on the night tours, including 8 frog and 5 snake species! The rooms were very comfortable and the food was delicious. Our one night stay here, particularly the walks with Umesh, were memorable.

Completely nestled in verdant tropical green of the little-visited Wayanad region. Renju was an impeccable manager, arranging meals, vehicle services and anything I might have required. He was assisted by the ever-smiling Sagar and wife, the latter preparing the many superb meals I ate during my stay. Coffee was some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of sampling, sourced from their own fields. Each cottage is sited up amongst the coffee plants, tranquil and spacious, with their own balcony facing the valley. I rarely had any reason to leave the farm during my 4 nights, though I enjoyed walking down to the main house throughout the day for a coffee and relaxing place to read or write or simply to observe the forest from a lower vantage.

The kitchen was well-equipped and perfect for cooking. I appreciated the attention to detail in ensuring that all necessary amenities were available. The bathrooms were immaculately neat and clean, which is always a top priority for me. What truly made our stay special, however, was our host. They were pleasant, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable. The location of the homestay was also a major plus, being easily accessible and close to all the local amenities. Overall, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay. We can't wait to come back and stay here again!"

It felt like being tucked away in a hidden jungle retreat, with the sounds of birds and the flowing brook creating a calming, peaceful atmosphere throughout the day. The individual cottages offered excellent privacy and a sense of seclusion, which made it perfect for a quiet escape from busy city life. The staff were warm, respectful, and always willing to assist with anything we needed – from helping with luggage to giving recommendations about local attractions. The on-site nature walk and nearby waterfall were also lovely touches that gave the stay a unique, immersive experience.

Extraordinary location. Mr Roy at reception, Mr Sajeesh need special mention. Roy is very kind and cordial. Mr Sajeesh is very quiet yet very warm. An excellent driver in the real challenging terrain. Mr James in the restaurant is an excellent person with a great smile and very warm disposition. Wonderful people make your stay wonderful.
