Thambu Illam is a lovely, atmospheric colonial villa in a quiet area of Jaffna. Our double room was simple, but comfortable and there were plenty of areas outside the room - verandahs, garden, interior patio - to sit and relax. Even though the guesthouse doesn't have its own kitchen, the food we ordered through the guesthouse and which the staff served in an open pavillion by the swimming pool was delicious and authentically Sri Lankan. We'd also like to highlight the wonderful treatment we received from the helpful and attentive staff. Among other things, they arranged several tuk tuk rides for us with the incredible Prasath, as well as onward transport.

Tony's place is a must stay for Jaffna. Located an easy 25min walk from the centre of town, it also has all the essentials nearby (shops, restaurants etc). Very clean and everything you could need. I stayed twice and Tony is very helpful with directions and recommendations plus is always up for a chat. There's lots to explore in Jaffna, but it is also nice to have a restful place to come back to and recharge. Thanks Tony!!

The rooms are large with all facilities. The breakfast had plenty of choices. Authentic Sri Lankan Breakfast. We were given the choice to order what we preferred. The host Haran was fantastic always going out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable. He even organised a vehicle with an experienced driver to tour Jaffna. Nallur Residence is centrally located just a step away from the famous Nallur Kandaswamy Temple.

We have spent 4 days here, and this place felt like home. Nice and confy room, AC working great, hot shower, the best Wifi in our time in Sri Lanka. Delicious homemade breakfast. Beatiful garden. Super clean. But the best is the host: Allen is just amazing! He was very kind, thoughful, gave all the tips and information, and we still got the chance to talk, share a bit of our experiences. A very nice hotel in the heart of Jaffna, yet in a quiet location. The rooms are nice and spacious and consist of a living area and a bedroom. The restaurant is highly recommended. It serves very authentic and delicious regional cuisine. The staff is very accommodating, and Dinesh, in particular, gave us a lot of additional information. The hotel is good value for money, and we ate in the restaurant every evening and tried many dishes on the menu. The pool and gym are cleaned daily, and everything is very tidy.

Perfect location just a few minutes from Jaffna town. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The staff were very welcoming and made my stay pleasant. They also served a delicious Jaffna-style breakfast. The manager personally picked me up from the railway station early in the morning and arranged an early check-in, which I really appreciated. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place!

This is an exceptional place where you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of every day life, where you are lulled to sleep at night the sound of waves. The eco-conscious huts are exceptionally well made and comfortable. Staff are universally friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Do not miss the cuttlefish curry which is to die for. The very friendly owner went out of his way to help me plan my days in Jaffna. Highly recommended
