Everything. It is surrounded by a lush garden of palm trees, very serene, in the morning you hear the chirping of birds as the jungle wakes up, the evening is very calm and quiet. The cottages are super clean, bedsheets smelling fresh, and the room has everything you might need (toiletries, water, kettle, tea, A/C). Sandeep is very thoughtful and can take of everything, from safari tour, to rides in/out of Udawalawe, dinner recommendations). The breakfast with full view of the trees was the cherry on the cake. I would return here anytime, I travel a lot and this is definitely in my top 3 hidden gems I found during my worldwide travels.

Leel's place is the best place we have being in entire Sri Lanka. The place is well cleaned, beautiful, calm and romantic. Leel is a wonderful host, honest and decent, taking care of everything, making sure you will have the best stay. Leel's mother cook delicious food, served so well. The breakfast was made by Leel's wife and it was so good and tasty. Leel is the best Safari guide you will ever find in Udawalawe. This place is absolutely incredible. I'd honestly live here. Anju and his family were so welcoming and helpful. They had welcome drinks on arrival and after our safari which he organised, which was lovely. Breakfast and dinner were amazing! There was so much food, I couldn't eat it all, they even lit candles for dinner. The cottages themselves are absolutely stunning. They have been done to such a gorgeous standard and so many little details like beautiful light fixtures, natural shower as well as a hot one in the bathroom, washing line, gorgeous decor, and all the wooden furniture is lovely. They are just finishing their third cabin which will sleep three, Anju gave me a tour of it and it will be lovely.

Honestly, the stay at Amba Kola was one highlight of our Sri Lanka vacation. The host is very nice, supportive and welcoming. We very enjoyed the safari trip and a boat trip he organised for us. We participated at the cooking class which was very fun. The food on general was great. The place is beautiful and has great rooms. Quiet location with lovely outdoor space. Room+bathroom were clean and comes with AC, mosquito net and even a fridge. Very friendly staff that give us complementary welcome drink and the owner arranged everything for us, including lunch on arrival (7USD/2200LKR), the safari (60-67 USD for 5h). He even went out of his way to drop us off in the city centre (free!).

Really nice place and staff. Nice pool. Good food. Mosquitoenet, air conditioner and fridge in the room - all working perfectly. We had a great stay and great value for the money! Perfect place to stay 2-3 days if you go in safari. You can relax by the pool (which is outdoor) on great sun beds in the afternoon.

Nice clean hotel and rooms. Location near the Udawalawe National park, but not much else nearby. Big plus for bikes you can use for free! All in all a good place to stay for a night or two to see elephants and go for a safari. We had a half board with safari. Friendly staff!

Lovely hosts, great homecooked food, beautiful gardens, really nice room and perfect location. Sachith helped us organise a great full day safari where we saw lots of animals including loads of elephants, eagles, crocodile, monkeys, jackals, bee eaters and other birds. We had a really lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

Honestly, this is the best place to stay in the region by far. The place if awsome, we booked for a night and we regretted to not stay longer. The tents are designed in a great manner, very clean, very spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool is huge and you will not get out of it for sure. For dinner, we ordered the mix seafood platter, it was yummy, Tuna, prawns and calmari were so delicious. I highly recommend this resort, and for at least 3 nights.

Max Safari Villa was nice and cozy place to stay in Udawalawe. Location is good, near of national park and baby elephants home. There are different safari options available. It was worth it to see many different animals. Breakfast and dinner was also really good.

Perfect place to stay if you're heading to Udawalawa Safari. Buddika it's super close to the entrance to National Park. The host is super friendly, and had organised the Safari trip for us and lovely dinner after we've came back from Safari. The room we have stayed in was nice and bright and it looks even better than in the photos. Overall great place with peaceful environment, nice food and very fair prices.

Max’s Safari Villa was exceptional. The guesthouse is fabulous-clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Max will organise the best safari-his drivers are so skilled and knowledgeable and work hard to give you a unique experience. Our safari was a highlight of our trip!! And on top of all this the food that Max’s mum prepares is so delicious. Look no further -this is the best place to stay!

Overall really lovely place to stay. The location was great to get to the national parks and the setting of the house was lovely. What made our stay was the service from Tiron and his family who instantly made us feel welcome and gave us anything we needed. They made us a delicious home made Sri Lanka dish also which was amazing. Highly recommend.
