The location is excellent. We lived in the third floor and the view is amazing (the Marktplatz Hallstatt). There are a lot of tourists around the Marktplatz, but it is quiet in our room. Excellent breakfast.

All is renovated, all is super clean, stylish and brand new, the room is very cozy with a very nice view. If it does not rain, it will be a pleasure to rest three. The staff was so nice! The owner explained everything and was pretty friendly. Also thanks to Nadezhda who described all the sites in the neighborhood ! Location is super! Hallstatt, Gosausee - all is in 20-30 minutes by car. The first floor is the hostel, and the second is the hotel.

From the moment you see the hut on the side of the mountain you feel a home from home. Relaxing, quiet (interspersed with the melodic sounds of cow bells) & comfortable. Bernhard & his team are like a welcoming family. Comfortable bunks, scrummy Austrian food & delicious homemade schnapps. If you want to experience a traditional mountain lodge experience this is a great place to start. With unexpected bonus fast wifi!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a wide variety of options, including freshly prepared eggs. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, with comfortable beds (softer ones). The hotel was quiet at night, and there were lots of parking places available. The sauna and dinner experience were also exceptional, with locally sourced dishes and live local music. It's a shame we only stayed for one night, as the area seems perfect for hiking. I would highly recommend this hotel for a truly outstanding experience!

The place goes over and beyond in terms of experience, views and service. The staff is super friendly and well-spoken in english so communication is not something to worry about. The suites are prepared very well and clean for all guests with comfortable bedding and atmosphere. The food available at their restaurant is inexpensive and tasty. The best part is the view of the gorgeous lake right in front of the accomodation. Has a great path for a walk around the lake as well.

friendly staff. very clean, very nice decor, the view from the room we stayed in was outstanding, the breakfast was very good, the hot jacuzzi was great on a cold night, it was a romantic holiday for us. I proposed marriage against the view in the Luxury Suite. Sandra at the reception took special care of us. In short, it was perfect.

Excellent food (except for Topfen Strudel). Convenient location: cross-country skiing and hiking routes start next to the hotel. The room was cozy furnished, spacious and with renovated windows. Recently renovated spacious bathroom and big shower cabin with a window. Huge balcony with a view to both the mountains and the valley.

Very nice and cosy chalet with all the necessary items. The resort is very pretty in hallstatt with nearby train bus or ferry. We had a car for which they provided free parking next to the chalet. Very clean and also good breakfast. Very friendly staff highly recommend.

The view from balkony was astonishing. Rooms were big, everything was good. We didn't try the pool or sauna, but I saw some people spending some time there. Breakfast was good, but I had higher expectations from such a hotel.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of days.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of days. The lake is wonderful to go boating on. Hopefully the cable car up to the top of the hill is working soon. The hike is suitable for young adults and up to fit 70 year olds. The food eatery are lovely but check out the ones behind the main street.

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

Perfect location, very easy to find , countless free parking spaces. Immaculate. Very good restaurant. Highly recommended for couples. The only drawback is confirmation of reservation needed by verifying your credit card.

Excellent for bigger group (we were 5 parents and 8 juniors - schoolmates). Spacious, well equiped kitchen, living/dining room as a meeting place.... Nice place with lookout to Loser. The only thing we would do differently while building the cottage - the upper bathroom might had been divided into two part - one for shower and the other one for WC, there is enought space for that. But, thanks to the other bathroom on 1st floor.... We would definitely recommend....

I thing 2 days is ok if you stay only in Hallstatt however...

I thing 2 days is ok if you stay only in Hallstatt however you can consider one extra day for Obertraun for 5 Fingers and ice/mammut cave. Hallstatt is a beautiful city however not to much to do around considering the salt mine is clouse. Bout ride is good for amaizing foto of town.

Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

The accommodation had great view and the balcony was so Cousy, I could sit whole evening there to spend some quality time. The location is beautiful and relaxing. My kids enjoyed lot. Special thanks to providing such a variety of toys and activity stuff for kids, they really got occupied with activities while at apartment.

Being surrounded by mountains and walking trails. I think Gosau is known for skiing in the winter but we were there in mid September and the weather was perfect for walking along the river and lakes. Cool but sunny

We had a surprise that the funicular shut down the day we arrived. We didn't make it up the mountain for the attractions we planned to see. The Visitors bureau were not that helpful. They were very vague and we felt like we had to figure things out on our own. Kind of strange. We made the most of it and settled in for a couple days, strolling the lake road and stopping at different lakefront restaurants and cafe's
