Amazing and cozy place to stay with incredible view! The place seems to be just built. Interior is simple and that’s what makes it valuable. All sheets, towels, bathrobes are fresh and smells nice. Stuff is kind and friendly. Breakfast delicious.

Everything was perfect. Having a chalet in the middle of the mountain was an amazing experience. Late checking in was easy even though the reception was closed as everything was prepared (keys + instructions) for welcoming us after working hours.

Moreover, the staff, and especially Sandra, was exceptional and went above our expectations! She was very friendly and sociable with a great attitude! I highly recommend it! I believe this hotel offers the best value for money compared to any other accommodation in Hallstatt, and it’s truly one of the most beautiful hotels in Hallstatt. 10/10!" EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!

The hotel cannot be reached by car, but the hotel shuttle runs from the parking lot. The entire hotel is furnished in an older traditional style. The hotel has a beautiful terrace next to the lake where you can have a drink or dine, which is a special experience. For breakfast there is a wide selection of food, and for dinner we chose from the menu and everything we tried was very tasty (especially the trout from the lake).

    Very nice place that has a fantastic view of the mountains. It is a very quiet and peaceful place and the room was clean and nice.A perfect place if you want peace and quiet. The breakfast was very good and there is free parking. Location is very close to a lot of beautiful places you can visit.

    The view from balkony was astonishing. Rooms were big, everything was good. We didn't try the pool or sauna, but I saw some people spending some time there. Breakfast was good, but I had higher expectations from such a hotel.

    We stayed in the lake view room on the second floor. The room is modern and comfortable. I was surprised that it is bigger than in the picture. The view from the room is spectacular, and is the highlight of our Hallstatt trip.

    We had a surprise that the funicular shut down the day we arrived. We didn't make it up the mountain for the attractions we planned to see. The Visitors bureau were not that helpful. They were very vague and we felt like we had to figure things out on our own. Kind of strange. We made the most of it and settled in for a couple days, strolling the lake road and stopping at different lakefront restaurants and cafe's

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

    Mesmerizing views all around and one can spend quality time over here. Very well connected with public transport and can move easily to any tourist attractions. Surrounded by natural beauty, away from tourist crowd and very scenic.

    Being surrounded by mountains and walking trails. I think Gosau is known for skiing in the winter but we were there in mid September and the weather was perfect for walking along the river and lakes. Cool but sunny

    We went towards end of September which was still quite busy. I would avoid the peak Summer months if you don’t like crowds. Stunning town very picturesque. We had 2 nights which was just enough time to explore the town on foot as the Cable car and salt mines not operating in September as end of season. Great home cooked meal at good value for money at the Restaurant pictured below. Austrians prefer to be paid in Cash especially the taxi drivers

    Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

    The accommodation had great view and the balcony was so Cousy, I could sit whole evening there to spend some quality time. The location is beautiful and relaxing. My kids enjoyed lot. Special thanks to providing such a variety of toys and activity stuff for kids, they really got occupied with activities while at apartment.

    Gosau had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing holiday - a grocery store, multiple restaurants, beautiful views, friendly people, and many trails for hiking, biking, and walking. Additionally, Gosausee is only a short drive away. We didn't leave Gosau during our entire stay, as there were plenty of things to do, including just relaxing.

    We stayed a bit less than 24 hours, may have liked a few more hours, but not a lot more. It was a wonderful intermediary between Vienna and Salzburg. It was nice to be there around the times that the buses weren’t. We rode in on the train, ferry to the town and ferry back to the train.
