This is a really good hotel, excellent in every way but I will especially mention the facilities for those travelling by bicycle - it has a dedicated, locked storage room for bikes with power sockets for charging e-bikes.

Amazing staff, perfect breakfast (those waffles were something else!), a spotless pool with just the right water temperature, a great bar, and everything absolutely pristine. THis facility is EXCELLENT!!! What a dream of a place to relax and vacation. Mother Nature provided rain for many days but we were comfortable, well taken are of and enjoyed the clean indoor pool and sauna. Gorgeous grounds, fantastic breakfast and afternoon "Kaffee und Kuchen" with delights backed by Margareta (the owner) herself. This is a family operated hotel and restaurant and we were truly spoiled. They all went above and beyond helping us (when our rental car would not start), catered to our needs for our 93 year old mother and were always kind, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the property called the Mostschenke im Heustadl and provides a five star Austrian experience in dining. The family has been on this property since the 1600's and have up-dated and built the hotel in the last ten - twelve years. The Mostschenke is the renovated cattle barn and it a delightful venue for dining. The Hotel is clean, bright and the two bedroom chalet suite is a dream for a family vacation. You will love staying with the Familie Steinkogler!! We thank them for a wonderful experience. Heidi, Lisa and Ria

    A more beautiful peaceful vacation could not be imagined. The mountains are breathtaking. The quietness speaks to you, and I left feeling more peaceful than I have in years. We were there in May, and I understand the tourist scene in June and July is a bit busier. There is a lot to do in the village besides gazing at the scenery. Delicious eats, friendly hosts, charming souvenir shops and the ferry that goes up and down the St Wolfgangsee are some of the delights.

    Nice old town that has nice stores and good restaurants to go. I liked the Christmas decoration in the town center. Bad Ischl is a good place to stay and drive around to some other towns like Bad Ischl, St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Dachstein and Badausee

    Such a wonderful place.

    Such a wonderful place. Beautiful buildings and great cafes and restaurants. The Traunsee tram makes public transportation easy. The only downside is the short term parking, so got to look for pricey underground parking or free parking lots which are far away.

    Mondsee is a very pleasant area - very pleasant lakeside gardens and facilities. We were particularly impressed by the Post Shuttle Bus facility which was great for visitors without their own car facilities. The service provided by the Tourist Information Office was also first class.

    Sankt Gilgen was lovely - picture postcard beautiful with plenty to do to keep us busy (lake and mountains walks, boat rides, trains, cable cars). Visiting in September, we found it very quiet at night with very few restaurants open, particularly on a Monday and Tuesday. Finding somewhere to eat on spec is difficult and we would strongly recommend pre-booking if you want to eat out.

    Walk around the Bürglstein is very nice and calming. City itself is much calmer than the other ones (St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang), but still there is everything what would you need, water fun, grocery store, ice cream stand.

    Beautiful scenery and the views across the lake are amazing. Limited supermarket facilities and quite expensive - worth shopping further afield if you have a car. Check restaurant opening times as some were closed when you might expect them to be open, and make a reservation during busy seasons (school holidays) !

    The nature is beautiful around Seewalchen, many lakes, mountains, interesting paths. We had rainy days, but you can still visit nearby Salcburg or Hallein salt mine which I recommend very much (so much fun and so well put together).

    The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent! The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable. and the bathroom was great- excellent shower pressure! We had access to an elevator which helped with the bags and we had a fantastic view of the area on the top floor along with a balcony. I had a minor issue with the reservation on booking.com and the manager/ owner was very accommodating and helped me resolve it. I would highly recommend this property. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.
