Mother Nature provided rain for many days but we were comfortable, well taken are of and enjoyed the clean indoor pool and sauna. Gorgeous grounds, fantastic breakfast and afternoon "Kaffee und Kuchen" with delights backed by Margareta (the owner) herself. This is a family operated hotel and restaurant and we were truly spoiled. They all went above and beyond helping us (when our rental car would not start), catered to our needs for our 93 year old mother and were always kind, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the property called the Mostschenke im Heustadl and provides a five star Austrian experience in dining. The family has been on this property since the 1600's and have up-dated and built the hotel in the last ten - twelve years. The Mostschenke is the renovated cattle barn and it a delightful venue for dining. The Hotel is clean, bright and the two bedroom chalet suite is a dream for a family vacation. Hong KongHotel Esplanade is amazing. My room has no bathtub, just shower, but the view is facing the lake. Everything is super clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is warm at night inside the room and shower is great. The breakfast (starting 730am) was very good too. I would like to thank staff member Ms Day for making my stay wonderful.
The view from my room is great.
Note the supermarket is at right downstairs the hotel. It is closed on Sunday but opens 715am on Monday so it is convenient.

Room was fantastic. Very modern including bathroom. Bed was fab 🥰... so confortable. Even though I missed booked dates for the stay, they're very kind to facility me with a room.
Breakfast was more then I wished for and staff they couldn't be nicer.
Parking for free on the other side of the road.
One think to keep in mind the place it's a bit away from the town. It didn't bother me as I love walking and been out. The trip to the town it's a must and takes approx 15 mind.
To note: I didn't have food with them beside breakfast but the restaurant was buzzing all evening. So definitely sound of food Austrian food 😋

All was excellent! The amazing place in the center of Gmunden. Very beautiful historic building. The privat garage. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Great view from the terrace! Friendly staff! Thanks for all! Very tasty breakfast! I recommend this hotel for all who is planning the trip to Gmunden!

A wonderful room for evening tea, wine or beer! =)
It was very nice to be able to check in after reception closed (the keys were left in the safe with a pin code).

Very nice hotel next to Gmunden lake, from windows of the room you can see beautiful lake. Nice place to stay. Also staff - hotel owners works here and they are very helpful. Breakfast was very good and taste.

Such a wonderful place.
Such a wonderful place. Beautiful buildings and great cafes and restaurants. The Traunsee tram makes public transportation easy. The only downside is the short term parking, so got to look for pricey underground parking or free parking lots which are far away.

In November you do not have much to do there. We found only on restaurant and one café house open, nothing else.
I did not get why any (zero!) souvenir shop is not existing there - I am sure tourists would appreciate to buy some small souvenirs and support the local business by doing this.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent! The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable. and the bathroom was great- excellent shower pressure! We had access to an elevator which helped with the bags and we had a fantastic view of the area on the top floor along with a balcony. I had a minor issue with the reservation on booking.com and the manager/ owner was very accommodating and helped me resolve it. I would highly recommend this property. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

Small town, in which people great each others warmly. Close to Feuerkogel - nice ski area and to larger cities - Bad Ischl and Gmunden, for either relaxion visits or shopping. A warm feeling of visiting your grandparents.

I love the little town. Lovely square. Nice walk around the like. If you love hiking the place to visit. So much to do. Easy access. People were very nice and helpful. I didn't have a great weather but as they say it's not bad weather but wrong clothes 😆.

Very lovely small little town at the lake, it has plenty restaurants with amazing views of the lake and mountains. Suitable for family with small kids like us as it also has plenty playgrounds and lots of outdoor activities such as swimming.

Altmünster is nice village next to lake Traunsee with all its beauty that an Alpine settlement can have. Narrow streets, charming country houses with marvelous gardens, no crowd and fresh air. You can take a (steep) ride on to Gmundnerberg (the mountain backing the village) on foot, by bike or by car. Gmunden the neighboring city is a the treasure of the area, good cafes, breweries, restaurants and lakeside promenade with fountain, from where you can get to Grunberg hill with a cable car (lift) to the top and take some refreshing walks from 30min to 3 hrs. We really enjoyed being there and look forward to revisiting it soon.

lovely location, great in the summer and if you are there for the dark sky park (for those night photographers, or just astronomy lovers) its perfect. Go on a new moon though as that is when the sky is at its best.

It’s a lovely town with access to the lake and a local rail/tram network. Various cultural activities and we timed it nicely for the annual ceramics fair.
We used it as a base from which to travel to visit friends locally but it was relaxing and a lovely stay.

Nice and clean lake - no fish smell. Water is a bit cold, but that was expected. Mountains around the lake Traunsee look amazing. Lake surroundings were really nice, clean and cared for. Ice-cream at Giovanni's was really tasty.
